1. I'd definitely take an active blender over a passive blender. Passive blenders cause high end roll off and all kinds of other aformentioned nasties (imedance mixup, attenuation, gating etc.) FAKEEDIT: and a good buffer is way better than a TB one
2. Bill, where in the UK are you based?
3. Peavey T-40 for sale. Comes with: Original Hardshell case, Original Manual. This is one of the later (better) contour body / toaster pickup models. It's in natural, with a black scratch plate and a maple fretboard. It's very light weight for a T-40. It's in very good condition. I'll ship it within the UK for £300 PM with questions / comments Cheers, Joe.
4. Right now I'm running a CA 540A amp into a pair of Quad 12L2's. Glorious sound. I need the CA CD player, and a good turntable. Then I'm done.
5. To piggy back dood's advert: I have a pair of Mission 750LE monitors that would make a great studio monitoring / home entertainment rig. They're in dark cheery and I'm asking £80. I can supply these with the relevant super-high spec QED speaker cable with banana plug ends (cost £80) for another £40. !
6. Shame friend, it's a cool store
7. I've never had anything but a brilliant experience with the gallery.
8. Linus, Wizard pickups get alot of praise around here.
9. Tayste has 3 Valenti's - shoot him a PM and he can tell you about those. There's quite a few comparisons of Valentis / Sadowskys over on www.talkbass.com/forum. Valenti's are about half the price of an NYC Sadowsky, and offer great bang for the buck. Personally I'd go for a NYC Sadowsky. I'm planning on ordering one soon - unless the GAS winds change. Finally, remember that whatever you import to add about 22% for import duty and VAT - that'd be a nasty bang if you weren't ready for it. FAKEDIT: There's also a nice Valenti for sale here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11362
10. I think it handles the low and high end better than the big muff PI. It's also got a different tone stack which for my money sounds better on bass. Joe.
11.
It would be nice if the differences could be resolved.
I promise that will never happen
12. I'll provide a tenner, and a set of Groove65's favourite strings too. So we're up to £25 which is 1/2 the price of a setup at the Gallery, and I've paid for the strings.

New Fenders

I'm sure they'll fall.
14. I'll give a better price
15. It's not that difficult to implement, Mr.Rod. Good suggestion IMO.

17. I'm sure that there's some members nearby that might be able to help you out. If I was close I'd come 'round and help you fix the bass up. I have a few parts laying about - I'll find if any's good for a P bass and let you know.
18. The 18V converter will REALLY bring your fulltone to life.
19.
The more basses I play, the less point I see in making generalisations where bass design is concerned. There are many different ways to achieve the same thing.
I couldn't agree with that more.
20.
I don't get the price of that, it's just a jazz bass.
That's cool. I do get the price of it and that's why I own one. No worries - live and let live, eh?
21. There goes any bargain I was going to get on that If anyone on Basschat wants to sell me theirs for my collection PM me
22. That'll be the best possible lead you can get under £100, and over £100 it's all snake oil anyway
23. There was a screamo band called Orchid: http://www.myspace.com/chaosisorchid
