1. I've A/B'd my rig with stagg cables connecting the bass / amp and amp / cab and lengeths of OBBMs finest. There is a clear and audible difference.
2. That's correct, but I don't think you should end up paying the full 22% because the Swiss are non-EU with EU privileges.
3. Any friend of The Freezing Fog is a friend of mine.

which compressor?

It certainly does "squish tones" well
5.
Well I'm pretty sure it isn't one of the American ones (which are supposedly better), so I'm aware it may have some kind of issue like that with it. I can open it up, but I am an ultimate electronics noob - I wouldn't know what I'm looking for :/ Any ideas what to look for? EDIT: I opened up the back of it, and found there was just the circuitboard and the wires connecting the batteries to the pedal. I unscrewed the circuitboard, but it still wuoldn't come up, and I didn't want to force it, so I just screwed it all back shut again
That's because the switches and knobs are also circuit mounted. Which means they were holding it in. Call LIne6 UK distributer and ask who does their repairs.
6. That is my idea of total disaster. I hope no beer got inside your pedals as the crystallised sugar is an electrolyte.
7. Great bands btw
8. I've not even paid for my 3 special pedals yet. They'll be here by the end of this month. That doesn't stop me getting excited by the postie.

GLX pedals

There's a few from the far-east on ebay too.
10.
A limiter/enhancer won't make a bass sound active. It's designed to smooth out unwanted peaks in your sound and prevents any nasty spikes in the sound. They have even more of a place with active basses where it quite easy to dial in extreme amounts of bass and treble. Used sparingly, a limiter can make a huge difference to your sound.
+1, on all points. It'll also buffer your signal so you'll suffer no treble roll off from capacitance in log cable runs.
11. Cathode is probably the best FX forum handle ever.
12. The Reutz mod is one of my favourite mods for stompboxes.
13. Correct. When I use unity gain I use it to refer to setting the output level of the pedal so that there is no cut or boost in volume when the effect is engaged or disengaged. So, if I'm playing a passage from clean to distortion to clean, then the only thing that changes when I turn the distortion on is the tone, not the volume.

I like it. Cloning is brilliant
15. That's one I'd like to watch.
16. Barge do one that kinda does this now, don't they?
17. *exciting isn't it?*
18. Ooh, we got all technical and talked about wave shapes. That's cool.

which compressor?

Compulator!!
21. I found it to have very little effect. Much like all of the EHX filters.
22. I've lost count. Well, that's not true. I run a spreadsheet.
23. Nice sound there, whatever he's using.

EHX Pog

It's great for organ tones. I loved the ones I've played on. It's also big, fragile and not 9VDC
