  1. Yep, still on Spotify and that track sounds lovely
  2. If you're getting paid in dollars in the US you may have to set up an ITIN (similar to SS and NI numbers but purely for tax) with the IRS and file taxes in the US. In which case, having had to do that with Mrs Asingardenof who is of an American persuasion, may [insert deity of your choice] have mercy on your soul.
  3. We just suggest stuff, and if 4/5 of us like it we'll give it a go for sure, but if 3/5 like it and the other two are just ambivalent we'll probably look at it at least in passing. If it doesn't work we'll bin it and think of something else. Yes, it's chaos. I've scattergunned suggestions during my tenure and so far only one has made it into the set 😂
  4. A good way to go would be to get a semi-rigid case, such as one of these https://amzn.eu/d/09WNaL3 (I have the Gator version of this and it's great) or a robust gig bag like this https://amzn.eu/d/5ss1wC4 (cheaper alternatives are available).
  5. Given some of the stuff he recommended to me over the years I believe he would have.
  6. As I understand it, alt.country/Americana was a reaction to mainstream/commercial country and attempt to go back to more authentic country music. I don't think one can call it "alt" anymore given how popular it is, but I still prefer it as a genre to other flavours of country.
  7. If Kieran liked it, it's alt.country 😁
  8. Gentleman of this parish @Merton might lay claim to such a thing
  9. FB is the best way to contact him: https://www.facebook.com/tubentruss/.
  10. I'd recommend Tube N' Truss in Cornwall but Chris might not take it on as he specialises in vintage amps (he did a stellar job on my old Marshall Super Bass, for example). He may be able to recommend someone else in the area though, however I suspect that Cornwall is a bit too far afield from Bristol for you anyway?
  11. I'm assuming the obvious candidate of leaving it plugged in doesn't apply. Might be a wiring/soldering issue. How old is the bass, and is it still within warranty?
  12. Very Bobby Vega-tastic
  13. Ding dong the b*tch is dead though...
  14. He played a bit of bass in the TV series Manchild I believe - I have a distinct memory of seeing him sat on a sofa playing a Precision next to Don Warrington.
  15. A Hazy Shade of Winter - Simon & Garfunkel
  16. It looks like they've been discontinued, so eBay and Reverb are probably your best bet.
  17. Ah, gotcha.
  18. Secondhand Barefaced SuperTwin would seem to fit what you're after
  19. I think it's basically a Jazz neck that says Precision on it from what I can gather.
  20. I'm sure I had *ahem* other interests when I was 13...
  21. When I was a student in the late 90s I saw a 70s Jazz for sale in a second hand shop in Leeds for £750, which was tantalisingly outside the budget I had available to, you know, eat and stuff. It was gorgeous, natural finish and maple board and looked the business, and I was extremely tempted. But other things took priority so I left it on the hanger. If I'd spent the money on that rather than the Marshall half-stack I bought instead (no idea why to this day, but I did make a tidy profit on the amp so it's not all bad news) then I suspect I may have done more with my bass playing over the intervening 20-odd years.
  22. Same, I gave up on piano lessons way too soon at 11 and only decided to get back into music when I was 18 and all my mates were getting guitars so I asked for a bass for my 18th. And then I never took it seriously until I was well into my 40s. So trying to get back into it now is tricky what with life happening at the same time.
  23. Depends on what I'm playing at any given moment - my "sound" is very ephemeral.
  24. Hmmmmmmm. Eyeing this up as a possible post-Christmas present to myself. Just need a larger board to fit it on first though...
