Not every one on this site is able or wants to mess with electrics on there bass,so I think it's a great service John if offering those of us who can't.I have had stuff from John before and he does a very pro job,So stop wingeing you old Tarts
Cheers mate - made I larf BTW - THE KIT IS SOLD If anybody else wants one though, let me know
 2.
Don't be silly. It's a great offer you're doing here for someone. How about a picture for us to see? That may help you shift it a bit quicker too...
Why didn't I think of that Cheerz, John
 3. OK as I'm so sad - I've been to WD Music & priced it up. £7.90 - 2 x CTS Solid Shaft 250K Pots @£3.95 £1.95 - Switchcraft Jack Socket £0.98 - Orange Drop Cap (Same as Green I used) £2.00 - Wire (£1 per foot of each) £1.95 - P&P £14.78 - Total Parts. £0. 20 - Solder (Estimated) £2.24 - Royal Mail 1st Class posted to you. £17.22 - Grand Total. Leaving a miserly sum of £3.78 I suppose you'd say = me charging too much for building it? + I offered Screw Terminal connectors for anybody not wishing to solder their pick up & earth wires. I give up Edit: I forgot to add the small amount I regularly donate to Basschat whenever I make sales via this wonderful place Every little helps - or is that Tesco? Or Asda? Feck nose, is it Whisky time yet? Or just more pills?
 4.
To be perfectly honest, for the time and effort that goes into making one, £20 isn't too bad. Especially if it's a switchcraft jack and it's all unused before. This would be perfect for someone looking to upgrade their bass but isn't very confident. The option of the screw terminals is a really f*cking good idea too. Pick up change would be so much simpler that way... Wish I'd of thought of that...
Thanks - a ray of sunshine at last!
 5.
LOL. Why so negative? Yes, i was answering on behalf of Ou7. you asked why he questioned your price. Seeing as ive just upgraded all the internals of my P bass, and paid full price for the parts i DO know how much it all comes to. You only have to look on Allparts or WD music to find out how much each component and a bit of wire costs. I already said that your price was the going rate for this sort of thing so i wasn't questioning it at all, just answering your question. In fact if i hadn't already done my bass i would have had this off you as like you say, not everyone has the skill to do it themselves. I would say chill out but i guess you would take offence to me telling you to do that as well so good luck instead.
I suppose I find myself more negative than positive these days! Must be my age So you know the prices, factor in a little for consumables, time etc. + P&P, would you want to make a kit for less? No offence taken or intended - I'm going for my chill pill now Must be lunch time Cheerz, John
 6.
Its a lot of money considering the cost of the components. I do understand that this is what they go for on Ebay though, im not questioning your price.
Are you answering on behalf of Ou7shined? I don't see how you think "Its a lot of money considering the cost of the components" unless you have access to wholesale price parts or something? Taking into consideration that they are quality components & all the work is done - not everybody has the tools/skills/knowledge/patience - whatever to do things like this for themselves, It seems to me a fair price to ask. I thought I might actually be doing someone a favour, not starting a price war! If you're "not questioning your price" what are you saying exactly? Cheerz, John
 7.
Is this for just one kit?
Yes - 1 kit to fit 1 bass - what prompted your question?

 11.
Fender 70s Jazz Bass Made in Mexico 2008 Saddle Allen Key size? Hey There Just purchased a second hand 2008 Made in Mexico 70s Fender Jazz Bass for a wicked price like this http://www.andertons.co.uk/Products/i/xl__0132000300.jpg I brought a 30 piece metric & imperial allen key set and I've adjusted the bullet truss rod with a 1/8 allen key But none of the allen keys fit the saddles. Its slightly larger than 1/16 but not as big as 5/64 Its slightly larger than 1.3 but slightly smaller than 1.5 Does anyone know the exact size imperial allen key as I'm going to have to order a separate one. Thanks!
Even though you say it's larger than 1.3 - it's most likely a 1/20" or 0.050" or1.27mm sorry these people are out of stock, but you'll find a lot of 'good' sets come with a 1.27mm in. EDIT: BTW your sizes 'bigger than/smaller than' don't measure up! I have in front of me a selection of Bondhus keys which measure:- 1/20"/0.050" = 1.26mm or 1.27 as shown, 1/16" = 1.58mm & 1.5mm = 1.50mm. So a 1/16" key is bigger than a 1.5mm. HTH Edit 2: This set will do! Cheerz, John

 14.
Niiiice! Sounds awesome! And looks it too! Couple of quick questions, if you don't mind? 1, will it dirty up at home practice volume, without making everyone else in the building scream at you? 2, do you think a regular Little Bastard, along with another 1x15 cab would be close enough to it?
1, Yep 2, Yep - or a 112
 15. That's a real beauty, 60's special & as for playing at the Albert Hall stick that in your CV & smoke it smashing
 16.
Hi guys... I'd like to reduce the number of mains plugs I'm having to use to run my monster board. Any suggestions on slimming the following down would be appreciated... The easy stuff - All run off a Diago power station... ALL 9v Centre Neg Boss DD20 Boss SL20 Boss OC2 EBS Unichorus Guyatone Phase Shifter Tech 21 XXL Bass Devi Ever Soda Meiser 3Leaf Groove Regulator That's one plug. Then all of the following are run on individual power supplies... All 9v centre pos, but will happily take 12v. These need to have a long type power connector rather than the common shorter one. Moogerfooger MF-101 Moogerfooger MF-102 Moogerfooger MF-107 Markbass SuperSynth (12v pos with a huge draw of 550ma) Moog MP-201 (12v pos but with an odd connector, looks like a regular barrel with a yellow cap and a really tiny centre hole) Old EHX Bass MicroSynth (24v pos). I'm happy with the Diago and I'm thinking the SuperSynth is best on it own due to a huge draw, as well as the BMS as it needs 24v. Is there a supply that could wither run everything run by the Diago PLUS the 3 moogerfoogers, or just something that will power the 3 moogers. I am unsure about the MP201 as it's connector is very odd and finding an adaptor may not be easy. Even a way to power the 3 moogerfoogers would save me 2 plugs! Cheers Shep
Hi Shep, If I can source the longer plugs I can make up a PSU with leads for the 3 moogerfoogers at least, will send you a PM. Cheerz, John
 17.
Hi guys, my band March have a new track out and thought I might share it with y'all http://march.bandcamp.com/track/the-cut Would love any feedback at all!
It's good to see the lyrics, although they're a bit angry for me personally, they were intriguing & I had to listen to it all, which is unusual for me! The music is great & captivating, could do with a clearer bass, it's not cutting through enough, overall very good - let down a little by the lead vocals IMO but the backing & harmonies are good. Good luck with it, well done, Cheerz, John PS Listening 2nd time - it's growing on me
 18. Declare it or she's asking for trouble! Isn't there a trick about 'used items' = no duty? I'm not sure but IIRC if you have a receipt showing it's a 'used instrument' they can't sting you?

EDIT: I forgot to mention AVEENO Cream, I get it on prescription but I've seen it advertised a lot lately. It is really good stuff containing Colloidal Oatmeal & has no Lanolin, which is good for some people (like me) who's skin is Lanolin intollerant!
 20.
JUST to confuse myself further, I'm back to what I was before I lost my memory and password.. What a palaver...
Howdo Argy/Bargy - Welcome back & yeah good looking P bass . I'm in Bexhill, where are you? Cheerz, John
