2. Well I'm glad i'm the only one that likes it, perhaps it'll go cheap might even have a bid on it
 3.
Flick your eyes between the two back and forth - are you seriously telling me you find these "very similar"? The fonts are completely different in terms of serifs and stem widths. The kerning on the ebay one is so bad it almost reads "PR ECISION BA SS"
Yes I can see that now you mention it Just thought maybe it was a bad transfer I'm sure I can see 5 screws in the bridge though?
 4.
Take a long, hard look at the word "Precision": You seem to own a few genuine Fenders ... what do you think?
I can't see, you'll have to enlighten me please! All my Fender head logos are different, none like that, but here's one very similar in a book I saw:
 5.
And of course, the famous Fender THREE screw bridge.
Are you lot looking at the same pictures I can see? I quite like it apart from the chips
 6.
+1 but you forgot matchsticks.
Aha! In my defence - I gave up smoking about 6 years ago so never seem to have matches laying around these days Tooth picks?
 7.
I spotted a link to this: http://www.suerydercareshop.com/brand/87/S...er_Care_Guitars Charity shop basses with through body stringing for 60 notes? Dare I say it not the ugliest P copy headstock I've ever seen? If it's reasonably well put together then am I the only one struggling to see the down side here?
Perhaps you should ask if it's Doll's House scale usually 1/12 I think
 8.
Hi Where can I find a 2x25K ohm balance pot & a 500k ohm push/pull volume pot? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Paddy
WD Music Are pretty good.
 9.
looking at putting together a self build, ive got hold of a nice jazz neck (generic not fender) and its been mounted to previous bass. the screw holes dont line up with the body i'm gonna use so i ask... whats the best filler to use to fil the original holes and that will be strong enough for me to drill new ones to re-fit the neck to my body? cheers
Cocktail Sticks, wooden Kebab skewers, small dowel rod or even a piece of wood whittled down to size - any of those tapped in to old holes with plenty of Wood Glue - Evo Stik Resin W highly recommended, small bottle about £2 from any hardware store. When dry clean off excess, sand flat & drill fresh holes. Cheerz, John
 10.
Managed to acquire the standard edition head and the LB112 cabinet for £530, seemingly still deals to be had.
Good price be sure to let us know how you like it
 11.
wait, i got the bass book specifications for these Edit : click http://img28.imageshack.us/i/numriser0001u.jpg/
Could be true then! I didn't think the straight line head shape (beneath the logo) looked right, or the controls in line either. Then the pick ups - the finish - still £720 seems a lot to ask.
 12. Fender? Jazz Can it be true?
 13.
Looks like the price of these has just gone through the roof, UK made version now £700, bog standard now £500.
What! That's hard to believe, there's nothing else to compare though Mine was the first out the factory door (apart from 2 prototypes I believe) it's been great from day one - 11 months on in daily use. I haven't seen or heard any Chinese built little bastards, do they exist? Cheerz, John

 15.
Why do people spend thousands on custom made basses, then sell them? Cos they end up at the pub/round a mates/in a music shop, pick up a Fender Precision and realise that the humble P-Bass is the one true bass. Simples
+ 1
 16.
I do not know which ink has been used and it is not been sealed over, it has not been reacting with the finish yet.
Thanks
 17. Any chance of some detailed pictures of the signature please? Do you know what type of ink or other material was used for the signing? Will it react, (or has it already), with the Nitro finish I guess is what I'm asking? Has the sig. been varnished/sealed over? Also detail pic's of the 'choice wood' would be good, rear of body & neck particularly to see the grain/pattern. Cheerz, John
 18.
Hey folks, hoping someone can clarify! Was looking online and AV series P basses are close to £1700. Coda are doing custom shop P basses for only £100 more than this... I'm after a nice P bass but nowhere in bristol stocks these so i'm gonna head down to mansons soon, but my question is- has anyone compared these 2 series? I would have guessed the custom shop P was thr daddy, but for the sake of £100 extra who'd have an AV over a custom?!?
The '58 Olympic White NOS looks very nice & I like the C/S idea but I prefer the '57 White Blonde American Vintage. The '57 AV body, Nitro transparent White Blonde over Ash IMO much nicer than the solid Olympic White. Very sexy to see the lovely grain through the Nitro & the one piece Ash body + one piece Maple neck give it a unique feeling at a very comfortable weight. The '57 AV neck, Nitro 'vintage tint' IMO better than the 'light maple' finish on the '58, + I really prefer the vintage frets over medium jumbo & the 7 1/4" radius over the 9.5". The '59 Sunburst, to me not aesthetically right with the dark body/light neck + same comments as above on the neck/fret spec . The '62 AV IMO is the perfect sunburst colour combination with the dark Rosewood board setting it off a treat with the tinted headstock too. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder & all that, above is only my opinion, if you are going to spend that much on anything, it's got to be your choice & your preferences. How they feel & play I imagine is going to be pretty much the same & IMO it's all down to individual setup. Since I've had my '57 AV I've tried at least 5 sets of strings before I'm happy with the tone & feel I want. You can't do that in a shop before you buy. I moaned at Fender about the lack of choice regarding strings, especially Round vs Flat, at least they sent me a set of Flats FOC! Cheerz, John.
 19. Nick is now the proud owner of a second P bass prewired electrics kit & I'm delighted to say once more; Nick's a real gent & a pleasure to deal with. Cheerz, John.

EDIT: The seller confirmed it's got Made in England on the back. Shame someone's scribbled on it - with Cliff's Biro? Nice win though Wonder what competition that was? Cheerz, John
 22.
Ok just in: - www.rdamplification.co.uk
Good looking gear, old school appeal at competitive prices it seems Cheerz, John
 23.
Ahh but the flip side is some of us wish they offered Jazz's without the stupidly narrow Nut width and put a decent width on there as an option
+ a large ONE!
 24.
Hey I've got a '08 P bass and want to put a new pg on it for an upcoming gig giving it that retro look. The new gold ano p/g arrived this morning just before I set out for work and I was wondering do I need to ground it or shield it? Wanna get this answered before I put it on and discover loads of noise etc. Thanks in advance for your collective input - I'd normally google but our firewall is quite restrictive at work but it does let me get on BC!
Shouldn't need to - the pots & jack socket will be mechanically earthed to the pick guard - so as long as they're earthed with their black wires, you won't have a problem. Cheerz, John
