Must admit it is mainly the grooves and clever use of some amazing rsamples that is what I like most, however, sometimes the rap itself can transform a song - Empire State of Mind being a good example; when I hear the Alicia Keys solo version I'm always anticipating the different texture as it were of the rap. Cultural appropriation - whole new thread (and I think it would get locked very quickly), but I do think the term should be cultural misappropriation.

I do have a sense of humour thanks. I also have a sense of respect to other artists, even if I'm not a fan of their music.

Possible, but at 56 I'm probably not DJ Shadow's core market! I also love Tony Bennet, Led Zeppelin and Mozart's Grand Mass is one of my favourite pieces of music. Perhaps I'm just odd.

Just saddened that this time around there has been such peurile negativity. Any sensible criticism would be welcome, but comparing DJ Shadow to roadworks, or the lame 30/35 second "quips" is not the level of discussion I'd expect from fellow musicians.

Seems like some folk can't cope with two positive threads about rap at the same time. Guess I revived this at the wrong moment.

Blimey, too close for comfort - I was going for Too Much Too Young though. First genre musical movement I got into.

That's not an age thing. Musical references and inspiration for many are far older than they are. I'm looking to break out of the Blues Rock genre so am starting to look around for people with different interests rather than different ages.

Very, very happy with mine. Great tone, easy to use, plenty loud enough, and have had it for over a year with no problems.

Ok, going a bit far fetched here but could you get some Bluetooth bits and use it as a cool wall mounted controller for an audio player (use the knobs and have a readout in the pickup cavities)?

For me, pleasing an audience is the ultimate aim, but if they are not there, watching the football, or totally dis-engaged then I still enjoy just playing in a band situation.

How on earth does that get described as Very Good condition? Great instruments those Blades though.

I use a Carvin BX500 and as you say, there is very little difference with valve on or off. I believe that the valve they used was a little polite. The opposite to what a lot of people said about the Orange Terror. May be worth experimenting with some different makes?
