Gareth sold me the coolest bass I’ll ever own. Perfect gentleman throughout, took care of everything. Many thanks Gareth, top man.

This is interesting to read. It’s been a while since being involved in church music, but it’s sad to hear the same issues still come up. I’ve experienced this both as a “band member” and as the “leader”. Receiving set list 10 minutes before service starts. But also sending set list with keys and basic arrangements out fortnight beforehand and some of the musicians not looking at it until 10 minutes before the service starts. Or if they have, completely ignoring it 😂 I see some of the “problems” stemming from within organisations, telling worship leaders or musicians that they are the best thing since sliced bread, in an attempt to be “encouraging”. But all it does is lead people into thinking they needn’t improve. The sort of encouragement I need is: “that’s great, but what are you doing to improve your musicianship, communication, people skills, mental and spiritual health, etc and how may we help you to do this?” I tried this but it often fell on deaf ears.

Oh I hate that! One frontman guitarist I played with used to faff with his amp, or tune his guitar between songs, and not muted either but by asking the other guitarist for a note. It was embarrassing and completely disengaged the audience. I ended up filling in the gaps with jokes or comments with individuals in the crowd, just to keep the audience attention. He didn’t like it as we weren’t a “stand up” act. No, it was a joke though. I Left and took drummer and keys player with me. I’m sure it’s nerves with these people, but prepare and rehearse your “sound” beforehand please. 😡

It’s his equivalent Squier series. -
Probably should go in technical and repairs, or jokes, but I’ll leave it here.

Apps for chord charts/cheat sheets when gigging

Don’t forget a mic stand iPad holder. Really handy, even if you don’t sing, the mic stand is less intrusive than a music stand and can be placed beside you at a height to suit your needs. Good luck with the gig btw. -

Truly shocked. Rest in peace Martin. You’ll be missed. 🥺 -
I’m beginning to think this myself. Maybe I should sell the Dell and get a used MacBook. Appreciate everyone’s help. Thanks

Mmm. I’ll give Reaper a go in the first instance. I wonder if I could pop it on my Mac too and go between the two on projects?

Got a spare windows 10 laptop about 2 years old. I’ve just wiped it and reset I’m toying with the idea of using it exclusively for a DAW, but have no experience with windows music production, having only ever used Mac Logic Pro X and GarageBand. What recommendations do you have?

Admira 1000E electro classical guitar. Lovely construction finish and sound. Was used for flamenco so had a scratchplate at one point but was removed. Never bothered me. I’m replacing the saddle hence picture with strings off. Fishman pup and pre is great too. Heres a video unplugged £99 collected or meet up. Specs: Admira's 1000-E guitar features a solid spruce top, sapelly sides and back, an African mahogany neck and a mongoy fingerboard, creating a guitar that is a delight to play and to hear whether it's amplified or unplugged. • Top: Solid Spruce • Sides: Sapelly • Back: Sapelly • Neck: African Mahogany • Fingerboard: Mongoy • Bridge: Mongoy • Machine Heads: Gold Plated • Pre-Amp: Fishman Classic 4 Vintage (brand) parlour acoustic Lovely sounding all laminate guitar. I have it strung open D with the D string an octave higher using a B string. Nut width too small for my fingers, Shame as it plays and sounds lovely. Very low action. New strings. video attached. £65 collect or meet up. £150 for both as I need the room. IMG_3877.MOV IMG_2440.MOV

SOLD. Terrific compact (but not light) amp. USA built Ampeg. Serviced in Feb last year by band amp tech, then only used once last summer for a rehearsal. I put some fluorescent stickers on the controls for when a dark stage prevents me from adjusting, but can take them off if preferred. Excess to requirements, and have changed my mind so many times whether to hold on to it or not. So will test my resolve once more. 250 proper watts into 4 ohms. Comes in aluminium case that I bought for it and has been kept in when not played. Few surface scratches but otherwise in good condition. Dimensions and weight: 12.5” W 3.75” H 10.5” D Weight: 14lbs. Heres spec. https://ampeg.com/pdf/PB250.pdf Courier at extra cost, will do some digging into how much. Otherwise collection/ meet up Bath/Bristol/Bridgwater areas.
