top 10

No specific order - but these are the first to sprint to mind that get very regular play : Pet Sematary - The Ramones Baroque Bordello - The Stranglers Dogs - Pink Floyd High Rise - Hawkwind Turisti di Guerra - Chiquita Ska Band Charlie - Noir Desir Private Hell - The Jam Hurricane - Bob Dylan Ballad of Bodmin Pill - New Model Army Belatine - Inkubus Sukkubus
3. Gary Sinise (CSI New York) - Plays bass in a band named after his Forest Gump character - Lt Dan Band.
4. That would be great - let me know when things get sorted.
5. The two i personally like are the Ibanez AEB series - the AEB8E is around £210, withe the AEB10E somewhere between £300 and £350, and the Fender King Bass - basically a Jazz Bass neck fitted to an acoustic bass - available for around £280 The one I really liked was the Fender BG31 - but they seem to be discontinued now. At the end of the day, it comes down to what you want to spend, and what you like - there are cheaper ones, but I have yet to find one that I like as much as the ones mentioned above. As ever - you really need to get out there and play a few to find out what suits you, and then sort out the finances to pay for it.
6. Had to post another comment on this - because I keep going back to listen to them - and they seem to sound better each time. If you ever get these dropped onto a CD release, let me know, because I am up for getting hold of a copy.
7. That looks great Nigel....really nice job.
8. Cheers Wayne. I didn't know there was a second one out - I usully get the notifications from SMR, but this one doesn't look like it got through.
9.
Just more evidence of how JapCrap ain't shifting at the moment. A year or so ago I think it would've got the original £180 - they are pretty uncommon & Westones on the whole were getting good coin. Love the 2-tone metalflake finish - if it was a Dynasty in the same colours I might be tempted... Jon.
If it had been a Dynasty or Dimension, I would have found the money from somewhere.
10. Looks like it has been relisted here BIN is still high IMO though
11. I remember this last time it was up - it didn't sell, and had a BIN of £180 - same location, so either it is the same person, or they sold it locally. A week or two ago there was another one up for £120 BIN collection fairly local to me - first it had a pictre of the guitar version, and the description of a bass - then the pictures changed to ones of the "actual guitar", which were of a bass......on birmingham Gumtree, there is the same description, and collection point by someone with the same name - but the picture is now of the guitar version again...£100 on there OK, she says that this was left to her, and she knows nothing about guitars, but surely the pictures would be consistent throughout!!!!!!! Still - sparkley and pointy

13. Hello, and welcome to the forum. You could either edit your original post to add the photographs, or start a topic in the gear section - the world is your mollusc.
14. Not come across one of these before - not even sure where it was made - I assume it originated from the far east somewhere
15.
Siouxsie and the Banshees (they may have started in the 70's, but the albums they released in the 80's are all superb) Fields Of The Nephilim (dodgy goth in the extreme, but the album The Nephilim has some of the best use of two guitars in a single band I've ever heard, and Celebrate is virtually a bass guitar/vox duet, whats not to like??)
Gotta agree woth you on the Banshees stuff, and as for the Nephilim - Last Exit For The Lost - greatest track they did. I think, for me anyway, the 90's were far worse - at least in the 80's we had the tail end of the initial punk period, which lurched into the Gothy/Punky/Rocky era - as was mentioned previously, New Model Army, Sisters Of Mercy etc...... While these were not mainstream acts, they were still popular.

20.
One of the odd things was a very strange output socket - not designed for a conventional jack or anything I'd seen before. I presume the green bass has already been modded.
It looks like it has a strat style jack socket on the front - the same as the green one at the bottom of the page I linked to (which was also from e-bay) The red one at the top has has a pickguard mounted one - From the pictures, I can't tell if either is a standard jack or not.
21.
Congratulations! I'm sure she'll really enjoy it. So much more interesting to buy a classic instrument than to buy yet another Squier. Edit: Weird looking 70s green thing
I've looked at that a couple of times today - not sure about it, but I love the colour. From a quick google, it looks like it's from East Germany - Linky thing. Wouldn't be to difficult to get it working, although the tuner posts look really small, and it may require a "drilling out" to get some to fit.....but hey! what do I know.
22. Great stuff - What else is there to say.... OK, you twisted my arm...... Restless and In A Rising Tide are two stunning tracks - plenty of energy, well thought out arrangements, well played, great horm parts and no "overplaying" Trends shows a slower and quite thoughtful side to the band - great track. I wasn't as keen on Firing Squad - nothing wrong with it it, just something doesn't sit right with me and I can't put my finger on it. I love each of the songs "as is" - would love to hear what you do to them over time.
23. I went to a showcase a few months ago - about eight bands performing two or three songs each. At least four of these decided to play Sweet Child Of Mine - all were pretty bad - and if I never hear it again at a gig, or by some wannabe in a music shop, it will still be too soon.....
