1. Hello, and welcome to the forum. I can certainly identify with most of the bands that you list as influences on your myspace page.

4. Hello, and welcome to the forum.
5. The green one was the one I was looking at originally - I suppose he could have more than one of them, and is rotating them until he can sell one......... His starting prices are definately over the top - the green one has had a refin, and the black one has a hole drilled in it - maybe he thinks the "mods" make it worth the extra over an all original.... I still like the postage - dispatched with parcelforce 48, estimated delivery in 5 to 6 working days......
6. Another katana has appeared - not in as good condition as the previous one - "a switch fitted that does not do anything", and mismatched knobs - starting at £225. With a hole drilled into the body, it's a little too optimistic for me. Here it is
7. Hello, and welcome to the forum.
8.
Oh I was looking at a katana the other day. Was it Ebay or Gumtree?? I canny remember if I was flush with extra pocket change I'd have had it too
There was one on t'bay, ended with no bids I remember correctly, I saw it - and by the time I had logged in, it finished - took over 2 minutes for the page to respond
9. Not sure whether I prefer this over the Fender/Squier Katana - both sort of pointy! Although the Westone wins on extra "points", the squire doesn't have the bottle opener headstock
10.
This is an interesting looking bass. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Another one here, but in the UK. Apologies in advance if this has already been posted or if some-one was keeping quiet to avoid an inter-forum bidding war.
11. That's good to hear - looking forward to seeing the culmination of all your efforts.
12. Hello, and welcome to the forum. As for selling gear - I have had very little experience of places like gumtree or ebay - and of that, most of it was bad. On this site, I have even less experience - only having bought one bass - but the process was very painless, and very rewarding. If you are selling, I would make a point of reading the rules - in particular the one about including a price!!! (methods of payment accepted could also be useful) - It would also help to include a good description and some photos ( there are some threads pinned in some of the sub-forums about how to add photos to your posts), the clearer the better..............Oh! and it would help if you included your location, at least the general area - especially if you are wanting pick-up only, cash on collection, or offering to let people try before they buy. I'm sure some-one else will be along to offer better/further advice on buying, and selling - but for now.....have fun.
13. That is looking really, really nice - The white body will really set it off. Will the narrower string spacing on the Ric bridge have any effect on the string alignment over the pickup pole-pieces and along the neck to the nut? Edit for managing to spell "really" - 3 totally different ways
14. Just received a Hohner Jack Bass from Andy. Well packaged and delivered exactly as predicted. Bass is in great condition. Top guy to deal with - highly recommended.

Evening all

Hello, Lewis, and welcome to the forum.
16. It does look nice, and the headstock shaping went really well. - and I used to have the same desire for a see-through bass after seeing that very same picture on the Sabbath album cover.

Hello!

Hello, and welcome to the forum.
18.
I would have thought your teacher would have taken you by the hand and figured out a way to teach you strong fundementals rather than calling you abysmal.
He did take me by the hand - but I think his intention was to break my fingers so that I would never be able to pick up an instrument and annoy anyone ever again..... Seriously though - this was back in 1976/77, and I was a snot nosed little tw@t - It wasn't until a few years later , that I realised I should have taken things a lot more seriously................the joy of hind-sight I suppose.
19. +1 to the above suggestions re: scale etc. Perhaps an option for 5 string with high 'C' If your site helps even one person - then you can count it as a success - and that includes me. - many years ago, my music teacher was upset that he had to use the word "abysmal" for my grasp of theory, because this left him no other word to describe my grasp of the practical side.

Hi..

Hello, and welcome to the forum. If you go down the Squier Vintage Modified or Classic Vibe route, then you will find that the quality is excellent, better than the standard/affinity ranges. Although a little more expensive, they are well worth the extra £'s. For MM Stingray on a budget, have a look in the for sale section here - I think there were one or two OLP basses being offered. I can't vouch for them feeling and playing like the real thing, but they certainly look the part. Whichever way you go, I would recommend trawling through the for sale section here - there are some good bargains to be had.
