1.
Hi Guys I am indeed back on the forum and all PM's have been replied to. Been busy with paid work (making basses doesn't pay much trust me !) but I am now back in the workshop with a few orders and a 'new' idea in the pipeline. All the best for the New Year........Paul
Welcome back Paul...it's been a while since we last spoke/e-mailed, hope things are OK with with you......I seem to recall that you were thinking of giving up on custom builds, with the odd exception, and looking into the idea of a mass production bass (albeit with your own slant). All the best for the new year mate.
2.
Click on the cogwheel to the right of the search bit - it's the advanced search facility.
Thanks for that - I had completely missed that. (note to self: time to get eyes tested again)
3. I could be wrong on this one, but it does not show the actual posts. It seems Thai you have to open the thread from the results and scan through - the words that you searched on are highlighted, which makes them easier to see when you quickly scan through. Not the ideal solution, but I think it worked the same way previously - please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Following on from my post above - it seems that you can click on the box that denotes where you are searching - it gives a drop down menu for you to choose from.
4.
Quick question - anyone know where the Wiki is?
No link on the site now, but exists here http://wiki.basschat.co.uk/
5. Just to add my thanks to Ped and the rest of the mods. The upgrade was smooth enough, and the problems are being worked on - OK, bugs and issues with the software are reliant on the company providing solutions. All in all, I think this is a result.
6.
2. The sub headings was a good thing since it helped you get a better feel for whats inside.
I kniw what you mean, but I like the option to preview a thread - the black blob with the down arrowon it that appears near the middle of the screen when you hover over a thread, lets you see the first and last posts.

Just looked at your profile - I can see your "Community Status" and your "Contact Information", can't see an option to view your "About Me" details - saying that, I can't see anything on other peoples profile.
8. If you look at the search bar/button at the top of the page - the text changes from "Forums" on the homepage to "This Forum" when you have entetred one of the sub forums and "This Topic" when you enter a thread
9. I mentioned this in one of the other threads last night - Check Bottle's posts on page 15 in Silldx's Chris Squire Electra Evolution thread in the Build Diaries forum - post number 292. Looks like there is no boundary between the info pane and the post area......any way to turn off viewing the interests.
10. I noticed that certain text under avatars (interests etc) can over spill into the main text area - post 285 and 292, on page 15 of Silddx's "Chris Squire Electra Evolution" in the Build Diaries forum are an example. Seems that long lines of text with no spaces are not wrapped within the boundaries.....not a big deal, i suppose, but annoying to see text over text. Edit : And it is certainly bright - I have tried to change the contrast/brightness, but cannot seem to find a good compromise - my eyes are hurting and I'm getting a headache.

Hello all

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Wolverhampton is a great place
12. Hello, and welcome to the forum............and the West Mids contingent continues to grow.
13. Sounds like a Dalek shagging a dustbin in a skip.
14. This one has been on a couple of threads already. Angelica Deluxe - bought new around '73 when I first started Stll in pretty good condition, but the trussrod no longer works - playable but with quite a high action.
15. I got to know these guys a couple of years ago when the invited me to the launch party for their first album. I have just been handed a copy of their third CD, and for me, this track really stands out.
16. Sounds like a good night. Many years ago both as a roadie and a player, there were frequent "Will we get out of here alive/with all our gear/with payment" moments - but that's the whole point - the chase is better than the catch. .....but this bit......
My highlight of the evening was the drummer inserting Sherbet Lemons up his nose...and them getting stuck...FACEBOOK seemed the obvious place for the picture.
......I always thought you needed hand/eye co-ordination to be a drummer. Next time - tell him that if he sucks them first, and they shouldn't get stuck.
17. That looks like a great piece of kit, Would be the answer to my problems too. Oh Well, maybe in the next life, unless I can sell a few internal organs.
18. I was sorely tempted, and the other half was pushing me to get it - but I think you made the right decision to keep it.
19. If the Lindy lives up to the reputation, that is going to sound immense. Personally, the only other change I would change is the pickguard - maybe a black tortoise shell p just to add a a little interest to the expanse of black. Have fun
20.
thing is, being from wolverhampton some of us may actually be able to say 'straight outta compton'..that could make us particularly intimidating for our digital invasion.
I'm just up the road from Comptom - in Bradmore - although watching some of the locals, it should have been named Broadmoor.
21. As with anything like this - a hundred replies will suggest 100 different options. As had been said above, try as many as you can, and choose the one that suits you best. As a personal observation, I have played many precisions, and one of the nicest was the MiM 50's classic. The one with the gold anodised pickguard. It was well put together, and was a dream to play. If I have any negative comments on it, it was that the pickup output seemed to be a little on the low side, to me anyway. However, a replacement pickup would solve this relatively cheaply. Comes in Black, Honey Blonde and Fiesta Red. It retails new at around the £600 mark, and a replacement Seymour Duncan or Wizard Thumper pickup is about £50/£60. At the end of the day, it has to be right for you, so if you get a chance, try brfore you buy. Edit to add : Yes it does give that classic precision sound - even with the stock pickups.
