Besides the Kay bass everyone seems to have started on, my second bass was a Hohner jazz copy. Cost £100 and played pretty well, gave it away after i got my fender, wish i hadn't.

Great post, after listening to those tracks back to back now need to get my cd's out and have have a bit of a Bjorkfest

I think these are the usual problems you get with bands, creative individuals in the same room will cause one or another to try a bit of oneupmanship. It is an unworkable rule to impose, so just stand your ground and make sure you get your points across. This sort of thing caused me to leave my first band in the 90's, we recently got back together and some of it is resurfacing but is usually cut off before it can become a problem, were a lot older and wiser.

After being on other forums, i would say this is just about right.

One way to find out would be to just e-mail the guy and ask who the owner is and wether he has permission to sell, may save all the legal hassles and at least you would have some sort of paperwork to say it was brought in good faith. I know that this is not an answer to the question of legality but its a start on the right path to understanding the ownership of an item

If he's a decent chap go for it, but deffo try to speak to him before the gig and air your concerns.
