1.
Personally I'd finish it off with some Jazz knobs but thats just me.
+1 i'm gonna get some for the VMJ i bought off gafbass just to complete the look. these basses really are as good as everyone says! well impressed. trouble is its got me thinking of further mods (mine came with a badass) and i'm also looking at getting the VMP and modding that too! bank balance permitting of course be interested to hear the difference to yours with the new pups to see if its worth looking into a pup upgrade on mine, though as you said Doc B, the duncan design pups sound really good!
 2.
i've done some trading and buying from eubassix in the past and he is a top class seller. deal with 100% confidence
+1 to that, just bought an armoured guitar cable from david for a good price, it was packed up well and delivered quickly. nice one,
 3. bought a squier VMJ from gafbass, kept me in the know all the way, and packed the bass more securely than any i've had sent before. nice one!
 4. graham bought a set of schaller tuners off me, top bloke to deal with, paid promptly. a pleasant easy transaction! thanks graham hope they serve you well!
 5. i don't usually comment on for sale posts just to say 'thats nice' or whatever but... woah! that's gorgeous!
 6. bump for pictures finally added. sorry they aren't great, but you get the idea (hopefully)
 7.
PM sent
replied!
 8. cheers for all the replies, in the end i've decided to sell them (see the for sale section) and buy some that fit and have the screws in the same place... guess thats what i get for not doing my homework before i start flashing the cash!
 9. 5 schaller M4 machineheads - 3 Left 2 right - i was gonna use them for a four string bass (2 a side) but they didn't fit anyway. they're used but in good condition. one of the left sided ones had a chip taken out of the paint work, which i painted over with nail varnish (not mine, i swear!) its on the bit that goes behind the headstock so not really an issue unless you go looking for it. its also a little more scratched than the others so as its one of the 3 left sided ones i was gonna leave it out anyway. i'll take some pics and try to get any damage to show up but i'm guessing it wont, as i say its not noticeable unless you're really looking for it. close up of the one that was damaged... yeah so i suck at photography. i have no patience for it whatsoever. *SOLD*5 string bridge - Schaller 3-D5 i think... the ones with the rollers... a few scratches on the bit under the saddles but other than that pretty good condition. *SOLD* i'll get pics up asap, hopefully tonight, once i've found my camera. trade wise if anyone has a 4 string set of tuners, black or chrome, of similar value that aren't schallers get in touch. and same with the bridge, a four string schaller 3-D would be cool or any other 4 string bridge you have thats of equivalent worth. or just PM with offers of the money kind, and yeah paypal's fine.
 10.
You're obviously not keen to do it but I had a similar problem with Schallers I fitted to a Fender. I just put 2 wraps of insulating tape round each machine for a more snug fit.Invisible. Been on 20 years and countless gigs now - no issues and never goes out of tune or anything. Just my 10 penneth.
well i wasn't keen but as you've had them on for that long with no problems i may give that a go and see what i reckon. cheers for that dr.dave!
 11. just bought an ODB-3 off him, cheap and in good condition. thanks mate!
 12.
Nik bought my Aria Pro II RSB fretless.
and then i bought it from him! he is indeed a star, kept me updated the whole way through, offered up different options of postage and packing. a thoroughly easy and pleasant transaction really. thanks, matt
 13.
Additional - I'll take those Schallers off you if they are 1: no good and 2: chrome
nah sorry they're black, they'll be making an appearance in the for sale section soon i think
 14. cheers all, looks like something i'll have to put a little more thought into, thanks for all your pointers.
 15. been searching through the posts about this but can't seem to find the info i need, i'm probably looking in the wrong place... i bought some schaller M4's to replace the cheap korean tuners in one of my basses but the holes in the headstock are too wide for a snug fit, so i checked other basses and its the same story. what is/is there a standard size for shaft width on a bass tuner? can someone explain to me how it works? i read on a post i found that i could use the schaller's and fill the gap around them with something but i'd rather not, i'd rather just get a different brand of good quality tuner. also the screw is in the wrong place on schallers (off to one side) compared to the ones i'm replacing (below), didn't realise it was gonna be this complicated!
 16.
Bloody GAS
ewww, you should probably see a doctor about that sorry... couldn't resist
 17.
I know what you peavey T-40 nutters are like so here's one on the bay, it's a bit scratched up but it's cheap right now. Considering it's been up two days now and it's so cheap i'd have thought you guys would have been all over it like flies on sh*t by now
cheers for the heads up, didn't see it cuz i usually search 't-40' and the way he's written the title means it doesn't come up. i'll keep an eye on that, nice one!
 18. i very nearly bought an acoustic guitar from these guys a couple of years ago because they were cheaper than anywhere else but when i went to pay it all got a bit confusing - basically when they took the payment they took it in two instalments a percentage (deposit?) there and then when i placed the order and then i guess they planned to take the rest of the fee when the item was despatched... my bank stopped the second payment and wrote to me saying there was odd account activity. so i tried using my girlfriends card (different bank) but had the same problem after a couple of weeks of messing about i bought it from somewhere in the uk for a little more. so not sure if that helps but its something to look out for, maybe that's a standard thing and I'm just a fool, or perhaps someone knows a way around these things? or maybe they've changed their policy in the last 2 years? who knows! but if you do order don't panic if your bank tells you about any strange account activity. both deposits were refunded, there was nothing dodgy going on.
 19. night marchers - see you in magic
 20.
yeah I've used fast fret (and continue to do so) although I remember there was one specific one that applied a polymer coating (or whatever it was) and made the strings a bit like elixirs
DR Extra Stringlife - Liquid polymer coating thats it from my local shop... probably a bit cheaper elsewhere... i've got one somewhere never really used it, i usually just stick with fast fret
 21.
I love that Toby Pro 4. Just one thing, though... Why did you stick that horrible pick holder to the front? Won't the glue mark the finish?
nah its only stuck on with blu-tak!
 22.
A pity, this. I'll give it to the end of the week & after that it's Ebay. It deserves better. J.
agreed. this is almost exactly what i'm after... except the colour... i know i said that about the grendel i bought off this very forum, but can i really have two red basses when i didn't even want one?! can i?!
 23. i was gonna buy them! darn it, i was a little worried about filling the gaps left but looking at it i reckon it would look cool with the black plastic surrounds you get on some pickups (gibson etc) no idea where you'd get the right size thing though... hmmm
