Hey DOOD!

There is a wonderful quote from Billy Sheehan somewhere about basses with more than 4 strings, and I cant quite remember it...
2. My Musicmaster is extremely light ('76) and has the old skool big back plate tuners on, so probably not a god comparison to this one! To be fair it looks a nice bass! Wunjo's - agree on the nice comments, top chaps... althuogh I would say the same for V&R. Bought my Les Paul from V&R when there was another one in Wunjo's and V&R moved more on the price (plus the one in Wunjo's had had the tuners swapped round at one point and was in a bit of a state... did have OHSC tho). I remember seeing a 5 string Ricky 4003 in a kinda turquoise colour with the OHSC for £1250... really should have had that!
3. kev is getting one too - I suggest next bassbash at the studios you HAVE to come with your iPad and a song written, lol!
4.
Ordered one thru work? For work use or for home? - I spent most of the afternoon talking to alovely young lady in the Apple store and tinkering on the iPad - yeah, think I need look no further. Sorry to say that Android as an OS just hasn't caught up yet. iPad it is!
For home use and abuse mate - some kind of highly favourable finance deal they are offering through a third party straight out of your wages before tax, saaaaweeet!
5. Dan - I just ordered one thru work Arrives in a few weeks! I did put a thread on here about GarageBand...
6. My rig is waaaay too much for the few gigs i do these days... But i love the tone i get so much ill be buggered if i change it for any other reason than not physically being able to get it to the venue.
7. ...in fact I believe he used a white one for quite a while. Black or white is a winner really
8. Not at all. What it sounded like would be my interest! Obviously some basses "look" more metal than others, but Steve Harris has got away with using a Precision for quite some time now...
9. If you after hot female bassists then the Pumpkins had had most of them, four now in fact. lol Difficult to pick a favourite one as they are all hot in different ways but Ginger Reyes is probably the hottest. IMO, of course.
10.
Ditto, but your best place for advice would be Rick Resource.
oh deffo, absolutely! A mine of useful information. I can safely know I know a lot about how to spot fakers now, and a lot about the new 4003 cos I bought one... if you are in Norwich you are welcome to give that a blast thru the Ampeg stack in my avatar...

GarageBand on iPad

Sounds a bit more promising chaps, thanks for the info. Found that Apogee Jam thing and didnt really want to pay another eighty quid to plug a guitar in to it, thats ridiculous (particularly when its had some terrible reviews re: reliability & build quality)

GarageBand on iPad
you can't just plug a 2.5mm adapter in there
Oh dear. I sense some form of proprietary Apple lead that costs a million pounds and is made like crap.
13. Hi Guys Has anyone out there got experience of GarageBand on the iPad? I am really considering buying one for ease of use - im not after something top end, something portable and easy to use and this looks like the perfect solution - 8 tracks is well enough for me. Can I plug a bass / g*itar directly into the headphone port and record? Im looking for something quick and easy to use and after tinkering with a pal's iPad it looks perfect... I have experience in Cubase etc from college but im rather after something simple and effective for me to quickly record riff ideas down on and then add a drum pattern (you know what its like, you get a great idea on the train or wherever and then *BAM* its gone and left your head forever!) Any info would be gratefully recieved! Cheers Stag
14. I can understand why you kept it, its gorgeous!
15. The colour of that is glorious in every way possible. Kind of the finish I was trying to get on my Musicmaster... is it a refin? If I played fretless I would be having a serious sniff at this! Lovely
16.
Don't do it!!
I strongly disagree, sir! Beeds - perhaps worth looking at my review of the new 4003's at http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=130851 - if you have any measurement / dimensions / string spacing questions id be happy to help.
17. These new 4003's are the absolute dog's danglers - have a read of my review if you want some background on why... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=130851
18. Id just like to point out that this thread seems to infer that us Ric owners "appreciate the female form" rather strongly.
19. Absolute barg, wont be here long!
20.
this is my gigging rig and bass and i dont have a picture of my jazz on hand but i will do soon and i m 18 btw
what shop is this fella? Looks very good on the amp front, most shops down here have sod all in the way of amps! And well done on having a 610HLF - best cab ever IMO (Disclaimer : This is my opinion )
21. Love it love it LOVE it Cherry Red / Burgundy are the colours of true kings
22. The mighty fuzzwah master himself, Mr Cliff Burton used his BG Ric for the formative years of Metallica then went on to use Alembics and Aria Pro's. But he made his name playing that Ric the way he did... much like a few of the above mentioned names.
23. This bass is gorgeous. I would love it. Sadly I dont have £1400 in my arse pocket... great price of one of these with OHSC
24. I like toasters gets coat
25. Are you thinking secondhand or straight from JD? A buddy of mine had one up for sale recently and it was a killer funk machine, not my kind of thing (I prefer clunky things like Rics / P-Basses) but he was asking a very reasonable price for it considering how damn fine it was. Not amny turn up S/H tho, there was a real cool white one on here, the Starchild one (was that your Soliloquy?)
