1. I'm too much of a miserable gig to play music I don't like anymore! The result being that I've given up on bands and gigging altogether.
2. 70's pickup spacing and a matching headstock would be on my list.
3. Been playing 25 years. Still sh*t.
4.
Sorry paul h it's long gone
Ha! Not to worry. If it turns up again in another 25 years I will grab it
5. I still think the blue one used to be mine.
6. The inability to escape drunken, middle aged twats, dad dancing their way through the set, pausing only to man handle unwilling women onto the dance floor. The last time some grubby little prick grabbed Mrs H by the wrist and tried forcing her to dance, he nearly got a bass in the back of the head. If that's who I'm playing for...I'd rather not play.
7. Who is Jill Scott? (Following the letter of the op but not the spirit since 1872)
8. Sketches for my Sweetheart the Drunk - Jeff Buckley.
9. The Temple of the Dog album.
10. Nothing wrong with getting in a band as early as possible. You'll learn quicker in a band environment too.
11. 3. My middle initial is j.
12. Do not...DO NOT...drink a bottle of Southern Comfort at 10am while waiting to be picked up in the van. By the time you play the first gig you will be grumpy as hell.
13. Oh yes. I entered before once. I think I got a vote
14. Effective wins over subtle every time
15.
certainly drives along , you get the idea of the trains momentum great stuff
You're too kind. I was happy with the chord progressions and then my inability to finish anything properly took over The trick is that the tempo increases by 5bpm over the course of the track
16. The whole world is a stage.
17. I tend to be more of a reverse snob...which admittedly is just as bad in its own way. I take pleasure in turning up with a bitsa or an obscure Chinese brand and have it sound perfectly fine. I guess it helps that I am not overly fussy in terms if tone. As long as it's a pretty warm sound and not too clanky I'm happy.
18. I want to put together a J-pop/rock inspired pop, rock, jazz, funk fusion band that is simultaneously awesome and terrifying so that even that middle aged twat that "Drunk Dad at a Wedding" dances through every gig, while thinking that physically grabbing all the women in the crowd and trying to drag them onto the dance floor is the funniest thing ever, doesn't even bother.
19. Bought a cheapo acoustic from them...really good for the money. No issues. I have a buddy who bought the same guitar but it had a bit of fretbuzz...he had no problems getting it swapped.
20. I'm a terrible bass player, musician and person so I never even try to learn most bass lines! I much prefer making stuff up on the fly so I learn the chords (roughly) and then just throw in the odd riff reminiscent of the original to keep the rest of the band off my back
21. My entry... https://soundcloud.com/robotrobotrobotmusic/train-of-very-little-thought Certainly not Dad standards but it will have to do. My weakness is always that I can never bring myself to put enough time into stuff. Anyhoo...second!
22. Great stuff! Hearing one of my songs in the radio for the first time is one of my greatest memories! Record the whole show if you can! Well done
23. He's got an awesome name.
24. I still don't understand what's going on Is this just a troll thread? I just don't get it
