1. Thanks for your input everybody , much appreciated . It is the fretboard dots I'd like to remove rather than the dots on the edge . My project bass has a maple board which I've scraped the varnish off . I intend to stain the board as dark as I can get it and as the dots are black I'd like to put new ones in .
2. Wow ! What a top notch bloke ! Ordered a wiring kit from John and he made it and sent in no time , it's on its way as we speak . A complete gent in all respects , although when it comes the time for me to fit it he may well be sick of all the ' just one more thing ...' type messages ...! All Hail the Mighty KiOgon !!!!
3. I have a project Bass on the go , I'd like to make it string through . The bridge is an Epiphone / Gibson 3 point . How far from the bridge would I drill the holes ? Any and all advice welcome
4. Anyone know how to do this ?

10. I don't know who anton Newcombe is , but after that remark I know what he is and that's a first class ****.
11. I loved the Punk era for the music , so that's what it meant to me - more great music to listen to . I was 17 at the time into Quo , Lizzy , SAHB , Sabbath , Zeppelin etc etc . I still had fairly long hair , wore jeans & t- shirts , trainers , the whole safety pin biz / bondage gear meant nothing to me , it just seemed like fancy dress !
12. Aha ! Thanks everybody , checking out yon't cables 'n' wires as we speak .....
13. This may warrant me a clip round the ear but who is OBBM ?
14. Wow , that's lovely ! I have no money and I've never played Fretless , so have a window shopping bump !

Fave guitar solo?

One of my faves is definitely is the solo at the end of Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers ( Ernie Isley I think ) . Superb .
16. Chris Glen / Ted McKenna - SAHB
17.
This is my very modified Squier VM Jaguar. At some stage I'll upgrade the electrics to match the looks Underneath all the pazzaz is a modest, starter bass but, stripped and veneered, it looks a million dollars and is great to play. Trimming the carbon fibre on the pickguard was challenging - thousands of tiny, highly conductive fibres just where the electrics are... ...one lives and learns
That is a thing of beauty , well done mate !
18. I really like this bass and I'd take it off your hands right now , but I'm £300 short ! Have a wee bump !

Fave guitar solo?

I don't know if it's my favourite , but I've loved Eight Line Poem from Bowies Hunky Dory album since I first heard it in 1973 . It's Mick Ronson at his absolute beautiful , tasteful best ....unfortunately I don't know how to upload any vid that there might be around ...if some kind soul could do the honours , I'd be eternally grateful ...plus you'd be doing a public service !
21. Wizard Pickups have just started selling a pickup for a Musicmaster , might be worth a shot ?
22.
Here's my '61 Jazz replica I made out of Fender parts... 80's Japanese Fender E-series body, routed for P-bass pickup in the neck. Fender MIM Jazz neck refinished in nitro. Wizard Big P/J pickups. Tuning pegs and control plate from a '62 American Reissue. Gotoh 201b bridge plate and Gotoh 203b saddles.
That's bloody lovely . I don't have a Jazz Bass , but I want a beaten up Bass and that wee beauty would definitely fit the bill ! Very nice indeed !
23. I love short scales , even though I sold both my 65 reissue Jap Mustang and my white SG (pics still on here somewhere ) in order to buy a Shuker . I still have a hankering for the new White , Pawn Shop Mustang ! I'm sure I've recently seen the Jap on sale for about £760 ! Mine cost me £400 (I think) in 2006 . Just checked £739 at Thomann !!!!!
24. Cheers for your input everyone , I'll get looking !
