The Warwick 360° virtual production tour is now online!
AttitudeCastle replied to Warwick_Official's topic in Bass Guitars
Sorry if I'm being thick, but how does one book a tour of the facility? I'm thinking of using my transition between finishing school and moving into Higher Education to visit as many instrument production facilities as I can for the instruments which interest me as it's something I've always wanted to see -
Time to buy European? (Well Sandberg, perhaps)
AttitudeCastle replied to Musicman20's topic in Bass Guitars
Anyone seen the new "budget concious" Sandberg stuff? Looks like a fair amount of bass for the money! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0Hh90PSaf8&feature=plcp -
New Amp Day. Ashdown 550 spyder. Definately broken.
AttitudeCastle replied to deanovw's topic in Amps and Cabs
What would you describe the core sounds of the ABM and Spyder to be, and thusly the key differences? I've used an ABM once at a gear share gig, but didn't get long to play with it will have to make a road trip to try these guys out I think! It seems the Spyder has a surprisingly pleasant amount fo clarity and warmth from what I've heard -
I have clicked on add to basket

I'm VERY tempted by one myself, or the S series ones! They all look great to me! -

Sorry to de-rail a little, but as anyone here A/B'd the Spyder and the ABM? Very interested in these beasts! -

I use Rotosounds exclusively, but that's my preference. You kind of need to shop around to find what you like best as it's all individual. If you liked the Elixers why not get another set?

Strings are strings, use what ever strings you like the sound of, what do you normally use on other basses? Love my BTB676 as well btw!

Really want to try one of these! From what i've heard they sound really gnarly and ala older Entwistle with the gain cranked a bit! -
Really interested in these as well, they sound awesome!
In a Musicman, yes. The Sterling pickups (and Stingray 5 for a certain period) were ceramic. Much 'middier' and seem a bit hotter. A little more aggression and sizzle. The normal Stingray alnico pups are smoother, less in your face, more traditional. I think if we are talking P basses, it would still be a fairly similar difference.
+1, Cermanic is "harder" brighter, tighter, Alnico (assuming you mean V) is warmer, smoother, deeper, That's a bit vague and obviously it's dependant on pickup, winding and situation etc. Having A-B'd Alinco and Ceramic pickups I'd say yes it's a notable difference. Like the Seymour SMB A vs The SMB D. Alnico/ Ceramic respectively

What was the brand? Legacy? The strings which were identical to Rotosounds but much cheaper, and someone on here found a Rotosound "checked by" stubb in a packet. If they did those in the gauges I use I'd use them!

Adore Rotosounds, love steels, wear my frets more than my fingers which is still afair amount Have played 3 hour shows with them and not had anything in the way of bleeding fingers (from playing) a few scrapes is about it. I really like the rough feel and love the tone. Downside is due to my favouring of certain areas and sides of the fretboard is my Yammy may need another fret leveling soon!
Remember that the TU-2 will only mute one of the outputs when you press the pedal. Of course this is moot if you're not going to use it as a tuner.
Yeah thanks for the heads up! I'm going to get an EHX switchblade I think! £20 so not too dear and should do the job nicely but the Boss will certainly do untill I have an extra £20!
Wouldnt an AB box do this?
That's what I was first thinking, however I realised I know nothing about them... so thought I'd ask as everything I found seemed to say you need things costing a million and one pounds which didn't seem right, which is why I posted the thread!
Sansamp BDDI has a clean out that works as a split, boss tuners have two outputs, wiring in two outputs like the attitude is fairly easy. Loads of pedals have multiple outputs. Some amps have tow inputs you can run a cable from the other one into another amp, like bridging inputs on valve amps.
Thanks Mr.F! Given me some good food for thought! I have an old TU-2 gathering dust our rehersal space, can't believe I didn't think of it sooner, D'oh!
I picked up a mono version of one of these from Denmark Street a few years back. Rudimentary way of splitting from the bass to two amps, it worked. Cheap as chips. http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_2307wt_1182
Thanks! Would it work by plugging something that into the bass then running a cable from each side work?
The easiest way is probably to solder yourself something like this, maybe 1x female to 2x male http://www.thomann.d...py_2003_pbb.htm
Thanks! I'm not the handiest, but I think I could pull it off, would have no idea what parts to use and where to get them though...
Have you seen this one? Stunning...
Other than the inlays it's perfect! Not helping buddy Will have one in my home some day...

Hey guys! I'm starting to mess with multiple rigs again, but untill now, I'd either be able to borrow splitter boxes or split to 2 Amps using the two outputs of my Yamaha Attitude, I don't know much about about it and most of the gear I've borrowed seems really pricey and i'm on a tight budget. Anyone with any experience with the lower end of the market stuff or know any tricks? I'm looking to split the signal from my bass into two paths running down seperate pedal chains each into their own amp. Thanks in advance! AC
can't believe nobody's mentioned Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower
Indeed! Another +1 For the Johnny Cash Hurt orginally by the Nine Inch Nails http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-F8OzZWqlA&feature=fvwrel Is one of my favourite covers of all time, gives it a different feel but the orginal is equally brilliant! And a great take on the fiddle solo by Billy Sheehan!
