1. Finally finished. Although.. I still have to fix something else for powering the Radial Bassbone. It works on 15V and the only way to power it I have now is a HUGE adapter. Curse you, Radial... Still, it sounds good. The Memory Boy might be replaced with something analog with tap tempo. But that seems to be quite an expensive thing to find, so this will do for now
2.
Wharfedale Lintons? Classic!
Bingo! I have a set of Diamonds in another room. Very cheap speakers but they sound great
3. Nice! How do you like the Lollar pickups? I have Nordstrands in mine but I'm hesitating about Lollars or Aguilars.
4.
Here's the new rig, couple of basses missing of course
Ah, the XS112 has arrived. Pretty decent
5. This colour is also nice: Or black: Really anything as long as it's not sunburst. One of these might be replacing my Squier in a while... As long as I can find one second hand.
6.
The bass started out with the T-bird pickups, and the EB pickup looks like a new addition. I guess he can get different Entwistle eras with different pickup combinations. I don't see a decal on the headstock.
I do. It's a Fender decal.
7. That bass looks fantastic! Any more details?
8. Hah, it's meant for the finish of a Tour de France stage
9. Next Saturday, the Tour de France will start in my hometown here in Holland. It seemed to me that was a good reason to pick up one of the tunes for the special radio show broadcast by the national radio station. 10.
Congratulations Nice lightweight rig with a great sound. BTW, give me a shout if you decide to sell your AG500SC, allways wanted to try one of those,
Thanks! But the Aggie had to go to afford this set, so it already has a new owner...
11. ...but it's not a 212 It's a SuperCab. 10", 12" and three tweeters.
12. Here's the new rig, couple of basses missing of course
13. Thursday, I said goodbye to my trusty Aguilar rig. It was a hard thing to do, but there's no drama. Because, from now on, I'm an official artist for the German amp brand TecAmp! Great guys and I love the sound of their stuff. I'll be using the Puma 500 amp, SuperCab and XS112 cabinets. I'm so super excited about this!
14. AKG D112 for bass, you don't see that very often.
15. This was only €80. I call that cheap.
16.
1961 Precision
I want this. Just curious: early '66 really really really doesn't count as sort of Pre-CBS transition, right?

I'll second what Gary said. Crikey.
18. I still miss that bass. It was so perfect...
19. I've been going through quite some Precisions, even had (and sold) my ultimate... The first one was this: Yamaha BB300. Pretty darn good bass. The tuners were a bit wonky but otherwise it was pretty decent. However, it got replaced by: Squier Vintage Modified Precision. I put CTS pots, a Fender Original pickup, a Gotoh 201 bridge and D'Addario flats on it and there it was: motown machine. Very, very good bass. I rarely used it though, so I sold it. And then there was the ultimate. A Squier JV Precision from '82, mint condition, all original that I got for...wait for it...€75. With an amp. And a stand. And a cable. And a strap. It was fantastic. Everything about it. Except I didn't use it. Silly me, I sold it (for a lot more than I bought it for)... A while after that, I got this because it was véry cheap. Yamaha BB400S fretless. I was great, and I loved it, but it couldn't quite match my Fender fretless. So I sold the Yammie. And then it took me a while to get another Precision. And when I got one, it was this: Squier Classic Vibe 50's Precision. It wasn't really my thing. I just couldn't get the bass going in a band. SO I sold it. And now, finally, I got this: Fender Road Worn P. I love this bass. It's almost as good as the JV.

I think I'll take the control plate off before the pickguard But were there other colours Jazzes came in in those days with a tort PG?

I'm a bit afraid to take the pickguard off, because I heard some scary stories of pickguards not fitting back on the bass because of shrinking celluloid

Our basses might have been twins at first I don't think Fender made a white Jazz without matching headstock at the time.

Yes, it's a Jan 1966 Jazz. Refin and two replaced screws, otherwise original. My fav bass of all time.

Let's go into Stig-mode: "Some say he recently discovered one of his basses had a grandson..." "...and that he always has exactly one Jazz Bass too few." Blimey, that's a terrible photo. Sorry 'bout that.
25. In theory, these are the same colour.
