  1. Thanks for the tips people, KiOgon is going to send me one of his creations. Can't wait!
  2. Has anyone put a J-Retro in their MetroExpress? Does it fit, and how do you like it?
  3. I should have, "Europe" is a bit vague I'll admit HMU with a message with how much you'd ask for it! I've also PM'ed @KiOgon.
  4. Well yes and no: it's an article from Amazon USA that doesn't ship to NL.
  5. Looks good! I'd like it to be a whole control plate with knobs and all, but this looks very promising
  6. I really don't like the J-Retro preamp in my Lakland JO5 so I'd love to bring the bass back its original state, with the passive stacked knob setup. I'd like to get a pre-wired harness. I know Lindy Fralin makes them but they're out of stock and could take a while. 920D Custom also makes one but they don't seem to be available to ship to Europe...Sooooooo Google really doesn't help me. Can you guys? I want to go from this: To this:
  7. This is 100% what it is. The tuners don't look like Squier tuners, so my best guess is an aftermarket neck (I'm thinking Mighty Mite), but the body is definitely a Squier Vintage Modified body.
  8. Recently, I've bought two basses that are STB and 35" (both Laklands, 55-02 and JO5) and I'm looking for a set of strings that would work on them. I've read things about (regular long scale) DRs. Would they be the only ones that would fit, except for extra long scale strings?
  9. Haha I don't know! It came like this. I'm still looking for strings that are long enough to go through the body on this 35" scale. DR is supposed to work...
  10. ...this Lakland Skyline 55-02 Deluxe came along for an excellent price. It's NOS, bought new from the shop but it's from 2018. So no roasted maple, but that's fine. It has old D'Addario strings on it and it needs a clean because it's an ex-demo bass (I think), but I really like the feel.
  11. Got a call for a UB40 tribute set in November. Did the same gig a few years back, very happy to be called again. Now to decide which bass to bring...

Couple of gigs in The Netherlands :)

  12. Oh darn, that doesn't sound good.
  13. Well, I pulled the trigger of not selling this as it was my first (and so far only) proper vintage bass and I still like the neck and looks. I'm going to take it to my favourite vintage Fender wizard here in Amsterdam to have it set up. @briansbrew I'm very very curious about the conclusion of your cliff hanger... Did the Jazz arrive in good shape?
  14. Excellent photoshop rendering of a bass indeed.

    Pairs

Two USA Laklands: Two vintage Jazzes: Two Precisions:
  16. Santa isn't real?!
  17. Hate to break it to you but the "5" is not the day It's the model number: 5-Precision Bass 6-Bass VI 7-Jazz Bass 17-Mustang Bass
  18. Well there's the thing: I really don't want a sunburst.
  19. Yeah that's also a thing for me: my 71 has an A neck which I really like. I have a De Gier Soulmate which has a '62 width neck (I guess a C?) that is maybe a liiiittle bit to wide for me. Ideally I'd go for a 66 or 67 as they're my favourite Fender years But...well...she is a stunner. And John Stirratt said she's amazing. So there's that.
  20. That's very nice! I'm considering letting go my trusty 1971 Precision to go for something older. However, prices have increased so much since I bought mine, I might have to dig pretty deep into my savings...
  21. I saw Sting play yesterday. He used his old trusty 55.
  22. 1971 refin!

For the first time ever, 3 5-string Jazzes in the house. And boy, are they great.
