I mialed him, and he changed it. He didn't know the "rules" on evilbay. He reckons it has got twin rods as well.

"Back in the day" I used one of these, and the only thing that would cope with the output was a 4x12" 200 watt cab. A friend in a local Band STILL uses a 100 watt example, and it drives two 4x12" cabs up to rather astounding volumes with no farty noises whatsoever. (Edit for stupid spelling mistakes)

Unfortunately, I think this is one you will have to work out yourself. Nobody on here has your ears, so it's difficult telling you how to get "your" sound. I had to do precisely what you are suggesting, and booked an extra hour at the rehearsal rooms, before the Band turned up. Even then, I still find myself making little "tweaks" at every Gig I play, because the acoustic qualities of the rooms tend to differ to some extent. I love my Trace, and when I finally got the sound I was looking for, nothing else seemed to come close. Enjoy the quest!

I played one of these in a FREE Tribute Band, because I couldn't get away with the short scale on an EB3. It was NIIIIIICE! A lot more sounds available as well, but still a touch of neck-dive. Mine just had a boring black scratchplate, though.

Start with all the major scales, then when you've got these off pat, get fancier as the mood takes you. Running down a major scale (when you've got the space to do it) during a song, sounds pretty good, and impresses most guitards. Mind, it doesn't take much to keep THEM happy.

Sounding like you're out of tune means you are frying your ears with proximity and volume!!!!! Have a look around the Site for "earplugs" threads, and invest in a pair as soon as possible. You'll probably find that a decent pair will 'take the edge' off the higher frequencies in Guitar/Vocals/Drums as well, allowing you to hear yourself better. and no.....this is not an 'old fart' reply. This is from someone with severe tinnitus from years in Rock Bands. Protect your lugholes, you only get one pair.

I had been recruited into NWOBHM Band "FIST" in 2004. As part of the 'comeback tour' we drove from Newcastle to Butlins in Bognor Regis to appear at a "Rock Night." The Staff were lined up to help us unload the truck, we did the soundcheck (to some worried looks) and retired to the Chalets for a couple of beers until Gig Time. Imagine EVERYONES surprise when we stood on stage, broke into 'Name, Rank and Serial Number', the massive curtains opened, and we were greeted by the sight of 5,000 people dressed in sparkly wigs and jumpsuits. It was a "Glam-Rock" night! You just HAVE to love promoters, don't you?

No, it's just a bit "relic'd" It's not falling apart, really.

I got one of these piles of poo in the '80's, simply to get "back on the road" with a Glen Miller type Band. When I moved on, and actually had to learn to move my fingers a bit more, I got rid of it. I couldn't get a real PJ Precision quickly enough. I sold it for £20 to a kid who "wanted to learn Bass". One month later, he gave it to his kid brother, and bought a "decent" copy. 2 months later, the kid brother threw it in a skip!
