Well...for a change, I didn't want a new Bass or to change my strings, and I have a Leatherman already, so I bought a flight-cased Mixing Desk off him. Good nick, even better price. What a stunning Bass Player, handsome beyond reason, all round good chap, and mature beyond his years. (That's another Tenner you owe me, John)
It'll probably be an excellent opportunity/experience. We'll try and rein in Big Al's use of expletives!
Not a problem now. I'm doing the sound for a Club Band on the afternoon, so I won't be there.

OK... I've looked and then looked some more, am I missing something?
I think it's the fact that he's using the middle finger to point Jon, so it looks like he's 'flipping' the camera.
Access is good unless someone parks across the end of the alley (like they did on Tuesday night).
Played there a couple of years ago, and a Nissan Micra had done just that. Five Band members, two roadies, and a couple of passers-by (who thought it was a great laugh) and the Micra was parked sideways in the middle of the road. That's one idiot who'll think twice before doing it again.
If you all go on a diet now, you'll be able to fit on that Stage by September. I bet you're looking forward to it though, stunning audience and one of the easiest load-ins ever.
if it wasn't for the damage on the upper horn, there would be something wierdly cool about the way that bass looks
Having said that, a few minutes (gentle) persuasion with a hammer and small chisel, removal of the 'lump' in the middle of the damage might make it look a little 'Burns'esque. A bit of sandpaper to smooth it off, and it would certainly look unique.
I'm not quite sure! I'll tell you when it gets here...
Is it there yet? Is is there yet? Is it there yet? Dad! Dad! Dad! Is it there yet?
That'll be this Sunday then.
but that's Feb 1st. Thought it was in March?
So many dealings going back so many years that I hate to think!
My first foray into having a Custom bass built was by Howard... (forgive the look, it was 20 years ago )
Who are you, and what have you done with Warwickhunt? The turny things are all on one side of that headstock, and there isn't any sign of a 'W' anywhere!
I found some videos on YT today which are amazing and I'm just wondering if anyone knows him as profile states that he is UK based. He plays a Zon bass with piccolo strings so he can play more easily in higher registers. It's very impressive. If he's already a member then make yourself known ;0)

Very good use of a loop pedal too!
There was a topic on solo bass which I can't find. This guy is the perfect exponent of what can be done.
Nope. Still don't get it. If you're that determined to sound like a six-string acoustic guitar, why not go and buy a six-string acoustic guitar, instead of modifying a Bass out of all recognition, so you can show how good you are on something that sounds exactly like a six-string acoustic guitar, while telling everybody it's a Bass?

Here we go again. Always pick on the quiet ones. I'll have you know, young man, that I swore at neither of my Gigs over the past weekend. The lads in the Band will confirm this...........
probably 'cos I had raging laryngitis, and couldn't speak.
(and M4L666-we tend to have a pack mentality, and take great care of our young, so tell your Parents they have absolutely nothing to worry about-apart from the screaming G.A.S. attacks you will suffer after seeing all the goodies on display)
I made a nice picture.
Well done Michael. It's nice to see they've started letting you use crayons again.
Don't care where, don't care when, I'm there.
and EIGHT-don't worry about owning a piece of sh*t-I'm taking my old Vester (Warwick copy) along for Warwickhunt to try out and take the p*ss.
Great amp for pub gigs. Bump.
No bump necessary. I'm having it. (When he comes back on-line).
and I believe they're meant to sound better as they age. Lovely warm, oldschool tone. I couldn't be happier.
Oh God, yes. From about three months to about three years is about the orgasmic time on my P. Having said that, I compared a recording done four years ago with a recording done last week, and they still sound the same. Thats just over four years for this set of strings. I haven't been gigging every weekend, but still...........
