"Can I have a go on your bass, mate?"
BigAlonBass replied to arthurhenry's topic in General Discussion
Afraid not Burn away!
[Dons Black Cap] "You shall be taken from here to a place of lawful execution, where you will be hung by the neck until dead-and may God have mercy on your soul" That's what's missing on this Forum-A good old dose of British Justice. We'll be allowing Vocalists and Drummers to post here before you know it! -
If you were prepared to post (at my expense obviously) this would be ideal for my daughter. She plays classical guitar and sings, but has started her first band (at 13) and can't find a bass player - they even have a drummer!, so I'm encouraging her to play bass and sing. This would be ideal.
Convert them to the low end while they're young - like it!

Oh aye-what's the name of your Band? I'll keep an eye out for when you get back on the road.
-
Howay in and welcome, marra. Enjoy your time one here.

Read between the lines:- None of the other Bands have their own Drumkit, or can't be bothered to bring it, so the only reason you've been asked to play is because your Band will provide one. Just in passing, if The Management find out you're all under 18, what are the chances of you being ejected forcibly and violently? (I've seen it happen) If so, will you have time to pack the drums whilst flying through the air? Which would mean coming back with Parents or suitable over 18 personnel to collect it. Even if you can get someone the same night, what are the chances the Gig will be over by the time you get back inside, and the other Bands will have battered seven bells out of the Drummers Equipment. (with no recompense to him) I'm sorry, but I got more and more annoyed while reading the post, not at her, but at you for even considering being shafted by this manipulative bitc....female. Walk away, don't look back. NO Gig is worth all that sh*t.

It certainly wasn't me. I couldn't win an argument these days.

Someone taking a leaf out of our German friend's book? Make the price as silly as possible, which creates interest and gets you to view their "other items"?

What should I buy - guitar, amp or FX?
BigAlonBass replied to MoominGiant's topic in General Discussion
Have a sniff round the "For Sale" pages on this very site. There are a few options of getting moderate/reasonable/good sounding Basses/Amps/Combos well within your budget. (No, I'm not selling anything-I'm just amazed at the stuff on offer at the moment) -
Sorry, cant remember exactly what the mod entailed (as maybe 10 years ago!),but seem to remember it was fairly easy job. The tech said it was a small component that needed replacing, and blamed Fender for being cheapskates with their specs because it would only be only marginally more cost to use the better part(s). If I can track down the invoice it may say what the mod was on there-will PM you if I find it! Cheers.
Nice one-Here's hoping!
they eat batteries. I had a small mod done to the electrics which stopped this Duracell habit! (Just remember to remove the jack when not in use too.) Cheers Pete.
What mod? Tell me now! I love mine, but I can't afford another Mortgage to keep replacing the batteries!
Being as you asked, the pricing on the head is fair, but the cabs are fairly overpriced if you want a quick sale. I had a similar model and it attracted plenty of attention on here, but failed to sell at £60. Food for thought if you deseperately need rid? Hope this helps! Cheers, James
Unfortunately it was just the location that did it. If you'd been any closer, I would have bitten your hand off. All the bargains seem to be "Dahn Sarf" at the moment. -
I've got a heavy duty 2X10 cab you can have for £75. Custom made "no name" but built like brick outhouse with internal bracing and sound absorbing material. 2 X 400W speakers total impedance 8 ohms - shakes my walls! Photo if you're interested.
Location?

Me too! At one stage I had convinced myself that they had gone bankrupt, because I couldn't find them anywhere.
Where did you find those? I'm having no luck.
Staples-Sale Bin. Asda-Stationery Shelf. (Round here, anyway) -
a bass for £45? I may be new to the whole Bass guitar thing but surely there must be some catch?
No catch. Wayne got it cheaply, decided it wasn't for him, passed it round (free) to anybody who wanted to try a 5-string Bass, and now he's getting rid of it. (cheap) Just sharing the Basschat love a bit.
