  1. still on the endless quest for that yummy overdive. has anyone tried the barbershop? (old or new model) Iv'e read some nice reviews on the other bass forum. I play a passive p pick style through an svt rig and still looking for that great driven sound of my head when played LOUD (cooking the tubes) ................unfotunatly i think i would be frogmarched outta the practice room if i did that :-D iv'e tried heaps of effects (Vt,VMT,bb pre,Knightfall to name a few ) and with my price bracket £140 ish new.. or better SH. im quite interested in the barber shop or catalinbreads sft V2 ......tech 21 vt was great but coloured my ampeg to much (curious how the sft will compair)

  6. If so then have a lovely mothers day :-) x
  7. The list is endless (each to their own etc) But my personal favourite after trying many is the dimarzio model P (dp122)..... It cuts absolutely wonderful in the mix and has a great punch. I have them in all my basses :-)
  8. Yeah man, a blast through a 8x12 cab would be stupendous :-)
  9. Only a poxy 200w solid state....... Svt cl would crush most amps in volume
  10. good choice on the tung sol's ,i have them in mine and it's wonderful :-) great price bump
  11. Led was the one for me with that pedal :..... Great pedal
  12. My god that is a gorgeous bass :-)

  14. In my band mix I have the mids at 3/4 trebble noon and bass at a quarter...... With only the ultra low engaged( not ultra high,it's awful) it's sounds awsome, kind of adds a layer of sweet compression to it as well as boost. I always found the secret to ampegs was boosting the mids :-)
  15. I was the total opposite...... Thought the bddi was pump without the mids.
  16. I detest heaving my ampeg rig two n fro practice and sometimes consider a lightweight option......... All that goes when it's fired up :-)
  17. This is the same head Novoselic used in nevermind recording. Rare bargain there.
  18. I luuuurrve that tolex man. Bargain right there :-)
  19. played 1 of these a while back,cracking amp.Bargain!
  20. It has to be Timmy C's tone on the 1st rage Against the machines album.. It cuts like a boss :-)
  21. Having gone through a lot of posh pedals, for me into my valve rig I cannot say enough praise for the hardwire Cm2(it's my main go to)....... I'm very satisfied with overdrive for now :-)
  22. It doesn't help he has a lovely tone to start with.
  23. I was looking at this earlier. Something actually interesting for bass from boss........ But yeah,a little late to the race m thinks( looks nice though)
  24. Almost the majority of bass/effect and amp demos I search for have some gimp thumb slapping!! As being prominently a plectrum player this seriously does my nut in( be them talented or not.). For someone doing a demo/review this doesn't make sense as most bassists mainly use finger/plecs? ( I'd guess)
