1. Sold a octave pedal to Andy. Easy as it gets to deal with, will certainly sell or buy from him again.
2. Would you trade on any?
3.
Why do you need a tutor? I've never felt the need for one.
This^ a couple of books, playing with diffent gutarists and the fun of exploring discovering etc is great. only imo of course....... i think it helps with being more creative. bit biased as i tought myself from when i was a teen (so tons of time on my hands)
4. I've took it off....... Car will probably be nicked now :-D
5. Well I tried it last night ( first time since I wanged it) I warmed it up all good, after 30 mins of playing the volume dropped a little and it had a high pitch noise? I switched it off changed the socket it was plugged into and noticed it wasn't biased right... So did that as well. My instinct was telling me it might have been the fan making the noise (as the grill with the fan flew out when dropped)....... Gave it a bang,3 hours playing afterwards and no problems at all :-)
6. I've played the pf500 (500w).... Ok volume I guess. Now own the all valve cl 300w.... Never had it up full ( I can't) stupidly loud, the pro 7 ( apparently 1000w) is absolutely no where near as loud.:-)
7. Awsome pedal. i have used a vt bass for a few years now on recordings, live etc into hartkes peaveys and combos and all have sounded ace :-) but when i got my all valve svt i sold it on then totally regreted it (i missed the vt tone), recently got this 1........but sadly it seems to colour the sound to much through the cl (Ampeg into Ampeg doesn't do it) make a average rig/combo sound as close as can be to an Ampeg. This pedal is as new condition comes with tin case sticker etc, velcro on the underside. £100 NOW 95 squids posted SALE only
8. Great clone of the oc3,steel case. and to my ears i feel this tracks better than the boss. great if you want to try a fairly decent octave and not spend a bomb :-) 20 squid posted
9. What 66 diode settings you using now mate? Just out of curiosity :-)
10. If it's all working then I think a hardcase and folding trolley will be next on my shopping list.
11.
Amp hurling - nothing like welly wanging. I recall a wet Friday night many moons ago when my (then) girlfriend was carrying my Marshall Plexi 100 (original!) across a quarry-tiled pub entrance floor....... She went one way and the amp went another, both hitting the floor with a dreadful crash. Being the perfect gent, I left her to get up and rescued my amp, which rattled 'orribly. I took it to my local tech the next morning who replaced every valve and tutted over the split in the corner bend of the chassis. He ran it up, and it worked flawlessly (& continued so to do until I sold it on, about 18months later, with the split still there..) - Probably says a lot about early Marshall amps (and girls in wet shoes).
at least you know your priorities :-D.............would have done the same.
12. :-D it wasn't half a bang it made
13. Yeah on hindsight I wish I went for a hardcase.... Making the ampeg anymore heavy than it is( boy is it heavy) wasn't on my list.
14. It must have been comical if anyone had seen.like slow motion, when you start running to catch your balance but make the fall twice as hard!
15. Cool, thanks. This is my first venture into all valve and for the last few months I have been super cautious, warming up powering down etc etc
16. I was taking my beloved svt head out of my car this morning (in a rocksolid soft cover). a few foot steps to my house and I tripped over a carport bar on the path..went proper arse over tit,Amp went airborne and it landed bottom corner full whack :-( the tubes seem in tact and no rattles, but I cannot try it for another week as my cab isn't here. Seriously gutted and pray it's ok :-( Anyone done this n gave their valve head a good crash and it's been ok? Fairly new valves as well.
17.
Fender P Bass All other bass guitars are invalid.
This^^^ no knob fidling,great solid sound........easy peasy
18. Why is this still here? :-) Awsome awsome pedal.
19.
But the vast majority of people doing these kind of gigs aren't professional, which is why there is a continuous stream of free and pay to play gigs. If you aren't reliant on music as your income, which most people on the pay to play scene aren't, then the idea that they are playing for 'exposure' is the most important thought. As long as there are bands that are willing to play these gigs, there will be venues who will take advantage. One of my questions/problems with these situations is that surely the idea of playing in a new city is to gain new fans, so why would you just bring the same ones (often family and friends) who can see you most weeks locally and for free?
+1 on that question. A fair few promoters/venues that use the pay to play system ( sell x ammount of tickets etc) down the south west. i do and have had no problem playing for free to gain exposure,fans...Only doing original band material (no covers) but this always feels like doing the promoters work for him! we played the flece in bristol 3 years ago and had to sell 25 tickets, you try convincing 25 people to travel with you (and thats only 100 miles from me)..... needless to say we only sold 4..and the stess of possibly being told we cannot play took the fun and anticipation right out of the night! we got to play btw. i totally hate this idea and to me it seems like lazy promoting!?
20. I have just done a trade with Paul on a VT bass. super guy to deal with, fast and no messing around :-) Buy/trade with absolute trust,i would most certainly deal with Paul again.
21. Can't grumble for that price :-)
22. Mmmm lush! I miss my hardpuncher,if only the cash was handy.
