  1. Things to ponder,I see limelight are made of parts he buys in then relics and bravewood actually makes his necks body's and some hardware. Playability is key I guess
  2. I want to start saving for a decent 58 sunburst p bass replica with medium relic. I've followed a lot of talk on limelight basses......and a little on Bravewood. Anyone had first hand with both? Best bang for buck so to speak as there is no price to gauge without having to enquire. I'll probably be tops at £1000
  3. I have no probs with gig related dings.....I've caused a few to others gear before.but like you I would be very annoyed without an acknowledged "sh*t sorry mate" or a blasé "meh" attitude
  4. "bassist damages drummer"...... Is what the title should say :-D
  5. It took at lot of neck relief and action adjusting to eliminate buzz and over clank though. Extra clank could be good in metal style mind......there are a lot of variable's, I play stoner'ish punk and found a heavier gauge 115-120+ to be to boomy
  6. I always play cgcf tuning,I've tried higher tension strings in the past ( Dunlop drop etc) I just stick with standard 105-50 gauge... Since my bass has been tuned like that for a couple of years I have no problems,a good action and sound. I love the flexibility of bending and slides with 105 strings. All depends on how you play? Light/heavy fingers/pick .I'm a medium to heavy pick player.
  7. Remindeds me slightly of a dha eq This is two notes demo https://youtu.be/fBdE1RyU1ww
  8. This looks quite interesting,Anyone had any dealings with one? http://www.andertons.co.uk/multi-fx-units/pid42769/cid693/two-notes-le-bass-pedal.asp
  9. Someone buy the Exh and do a review/comparison against other drives........so I don't have to :-D
  10. Nice!
  11. Hahaha......really make up your mind in a band mix, blend is your friend with this 1.
  12. It's sounds lovley. Could work well as an 'always on' pre type effect to me
  13. Is it a clone of the guitar version though? If so any low end loss? ......I've seen it on the bay and curious.
  14. Brand names aside........i personally think it looks rank .
  15. obviously drive pedals are very subjective to the user, but for me (having used all there) it would have to be the bass soul food ......mainly for how the blend interacts. It has a nice mid sound and work lovely with other pedals.
  16. I say crank a dimarzio model p in your precision...... Pleanty of MIDs,thump and anger :-)
  17. Also TC spark boost is a great low gain drive with blend, great price and no low end loss
  18. +1 on the bass soul food, the blend is great on it for a touch of grit.it cuts fantastic in a band mix.
  19. I agree on the soul food,my best for the year
  20. Cheers all, truckstop did a similar thing a while back where I won a boss pedal.........the lovely community that is Basschat :-)
  21. Right then ,winner time :-) I asked my wife to pick any number from 1 to 42 (excluding my posts, but still counted in 1-42) in order of yes posts..............drum roll.....NUMBER 13 has been chosen :-) Congratulations P-zarn If you would like to pm me your details I'll get the trooper posted to you. Thanks for taking part everyone :-)
  22. Last day to enter folks
  23. +1....I've gone through a couple now ,convincing myself I could use it in a band situation :-D
  24. I got a https://marshallamps.com/products/pedals/vt-1-vibratrem/ during Gak's black friday deal (£20)....and it sounds fab on bass ,plenty of options on it. the problem iv'e had with cheap trems in the past has been volume drop when engaging them .......... this has no drop in volume so perfect for me :-)
  25. It sounds very mid based ,could imagine it cutting well in a punky/rock band. My only gripe with Exh pedals of this size is that I wished they placed the footswitch closer to the bottom of the enclosure,I have a bass soul food and I'm forever knocking the knobs .
