1. Someone is selling a bb on here for £100....... Can't go wrong with em
2.
My fave for a warm subtle overdrive to pair with a P and flats is the Bearfoot Blueberry. It's a dark sounding pedal though and not the best for aggressive pick playing (for which I turn to either an Aguilar Agro, Two Notes Le Bass or Pike Vulcan). Definitely check out the VT Bass, that can cover a wide range and sounds great. If there's one thing I've learnt from all my years of pedal fiddling though, it's that everyone's ears, opinions, gear and playing styles are different, and you can't even rely on a YouTube demo most of the time. The true path to enlightenment requires buying and selling to try as many as you can to see what works for you!
Perfectly put :-)
3. the eminence drivers in the 610 are 6ohm and tuned different. both have nice note definition, to me the 8 has slightly better highs and the 6 better lows.Mine is a slm USA one im not sure its ply??.....certainly not chipboard.
4. Nearly new (month old) http://www.voodoolab...ledrive_mod.htm awesome tubescreamer based type drive (many differences to a normal tubescreamer) I love this and am really happy with it .............but i need cash right now :-( Was £118 from Gak..........£80-£75 posted another tube style drive,Nobels ODR1 .lovely fat lows and punch with this 1 ,has a different kind of tone knob (spectrum) gives more punch turned clockwise.again i think this pedal is ace https://www.youtube....h?v=a6TWdIEUZGE not very old as well (no box though) (NOBELS WITHDRAWN)
5. The 610 is all ported ,nothing sealed.each chamber of 2 10" speakers has port holes in the shelfs down to the 3 vents underneath. The 8x10 is great......but for me playing in a detuned rock band the 6x10 pushes them lower MIDs spot on and feels to have more ummmph.its quite hard to compare live as the 810 obviously has more height to ears, more subjective.depends on head as well,my cab is awsome with my valve head yet was quite naff with a hartke head I used.
6. I'd definitely say your more looking at a head than a cab for "that ampeg sound" imo...........................THIS!!! http://basschat.co.u...-b2r-head-l125/ is a stupidly great bargain ,sounds great imo(when i played 1 )and will give you that lovley tone your after. Most sealed 6x10 8x10 cabs will give a similar sound. My heads sound very different through a ampeg 8x10 to the 6x10
7. My old Cm2 sounded great......only issue I had was the volume spike, either to quiet or to loud in the slightest turn? Might of just been mine though.Rubbish as it sounded great :-( I can recommend the Nobel's odr 1 as an alternative, just getting used to mine and it's rather tasty.
8. all the way down in Devon mate.....typical!
9. Wow,I don't need this ......but what a bargain!
10. Sounds very positive if it was a RM 610t cab that you was playing through Lozz? I've searched and searched and there is nothing regarding user reviews/comments on this cab ?? I'm very interested in this as my Ampeg 6x10 is slightly to big for my motor( hence the sale)........the rootmaster 610 is perfect size(and price). Sorry to derail the thread
11. Quite sad news ,great pedal builder/designer http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2016/03/37-year-old_portland_man_trave.html
12.
Shots of my Ginger build as requested Dan
lovely,thank you mate :-)
13. Is there anyone who has had a chance to try Gallien kruegers newest 4x10 cab yet? http://www.gallien-krueger.com/cx-410-specs/ On paper it looks great, fantastic price as well....not much user info on tinterweb.its caught my interest.
14. Can you post a gut shot of your Ginger please Bigwan
15. Ill give it a few more bumps on here to see what offers come before i'd consider sorting for a courier Andrew (tis quite big n heavy) ........where you based? cheers :-)
16. Won't be here long at that price.bargain!!
17. naff picture until practice bump
18. Sadly I need to downsize. I love this cab and prefer it to the 8x10 ,to me it has much better lows.this is USA made( early 2000's at a guess) It's in not to bad condition ,a couple of Nick's on the tolex and black tape on the edges (originally to protect tolex joints) grill is fine. The only issue ( not imo) is the horn doesn't do anything...I think the fuse bulb needs replacing, not a issuse to me as other uses will agree it's a million times better without it SUPER SALE £250 Obviously a pick up or meet situation, based in Devon but happy to travel SW Pics up later :-)
19. That Ashton is great http://www.academyof...rs~bq410-p.html under £150 ! Super cheap, shame its not 4ohm........or ID be trying it for that price.gotta be the best value cab EVER!?
20. Yeah I'm wanting it for my svt cl .....and as you say it has to be 4ohm. I know there are plenty of 2x12 etc cabs that can perform better.........but asphetically with the svt I'm more for a 4x10 Any other ideas on cab ? I didn't really like the ampeg 4x10hlf
