  8. I love Wizard Pickups. whats great is you can discuss the sound you are after with the maker. They then do their wizardy thing. Brilliant.
  9. Hello again Freak "Stirring up" i like the paint pun. let me assure you my comments were purely light hearted. i was completely unaware of any agenda between paint and table top. i did not mention any prefrence for paint, i also did not mention any argument based on environmental ground. i fear you have assumed or read into my comments far to deeply. This is a great example of why i seldom delve into this area of the forum. It is full of "freaks" who read far to much into comments and take offense where there is none to take. Then to add insult or give some air of superior being they feel the need to correct a fellows typing/spelling mistakes. It must be great being so elite.
  10. WOW I see why your tag is "Freak". Completely missed the point of my light hearted comments.
  11. I have for a while, found it very diffcult to make a connection purely from a aesthetics point of view with those big woody basses. Really highly polished, like the dinning tables of the 80's & early 90's before Ikea took over home furnishing. In fact some of those huge basses you could share a meal at and have room for the odd surprise guest or two. I am sure the hardware , electronics and picks are amazing. But why would you want to put a rare piece of rain forest round your neck, that has been polished so much, the audience are blinded by the reflection from the stage lights There are woodland gritters all over canada and south America missing large parts of their homes, wondering wheres the side of me house gone. Only two be told its been turned by some bloke into a table, with strings attached. i do not include all woody basses. i like the simple ones , some beautifil Warwicks and Mayones basses out there. But these monsters need to be stopped. 12. What an amazing price, for an amazing quality instrument. If i was in a postion to grab this it would be gone today.
  13. You must post a pic when you get the chance. We could start a support club. changed the pickups to some seymour Duncans, much more gain sounds even better. Happy Days
  14. Body is a really deep red with black scratch plate, bridge chrome.. Its Minty Mint balls
  15. As above a great member to deal with. I bought some seymour Duncan jazz pickups. No issues at all. great communication. Just the sort of person you need on this forum. Kingprawn (sean)(John)!!!
  16. The Badass will not just slot in, although it was a very easy fit. I had measured all the relevent string hights , spacings distance from bridge pickup. so when i fitted it, which was very straight forward, i had pretty much set the new bridge to the old ones settings. having tested it i did all the adjustments necessary, to get it the way i wanted it. for very little money, i have a great Bass.
  17. I have a tokai jazz sound. it is mint. The neck is brilliant. the pick ups were changed to some wizards. badass fitted, But i have to say it is hands down an excellent instrument. i cannot tell you how great they are. if you can get one snap it up.

  20. Over my 20 plus years of devotion to this wonderful instrument. I have realised many things about myself. Having built a small army of amps and basses one thing is a constant. "me". does not matter what i change around me, its still my fingers on those strings with my own limitations. I have never had a punter come up to me and say " why use that rig bass etc" I have had bass players ask, but they are not normal punters. The problem is we are all suffering from the same disease. This site only reinforces us all. I need help we all need help. This is not a real world. " Abandon all hope ye who enter"
  21. Old man and the angel By It Bites the live version tokyo 1989. Love Dick Nolans playing.
  22. Ditto above. Easy transaction, Nice guy. Deal with confidence
  23. Great looking rig. Nothing better than finding the perfect boxes that deliver the sound you hear in your head.
