1. from the OP it sounds like you have a decent bass and a great amp but a pretty awful speaker, there's the weak link, the elephant in the room! If I wasn't going to ditch the lot and start again, my route would be to upgrade the speaker to (probably) something barefaced, and a great DI pedal for lots of options with blending with FOH, obviously Im a bit biased, but a DHA pedal is the mutts nuts for grit and "dark"
2. bloody hell, not again!
3. Another OBBM fan here, needed a monster thick speakon for my valve amp to speaker, supplied a superb cable, not too expensive, twice as good as anything commercially available.
4.
Things to avoid:

What key was this one in?
Oh, I never listened to that.
I'm playing the 'Live In Newton Abbott' version off YouTube ... haven't you checked that out?
I thought we might do this one reggae-style.
I don't worry too much about tuning - it's only pub rock, right?
I find that envelope filters work with pretty much everything.
Who the feck forgot to bring the beers / can you skin up in here?

Hey dont knock the live in Newton Abbot version on YouTube-thats me!
5. This will happen when the cat burns his arse on the ice....

7. no but we play to loads of silent audiences, does that count?
8. Thats completely immoral, and possibly illegal, deffo never play there again and make it known as much as possible on social media, outrageous!
9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNe6J5v2OGc&nohtml5=False i cant hear any difference!
10. wow, lots of quitting going on! Ive been in the same gigging band for getting on 6 years now, and they were the first 2 blokes who answered my ad! I guess i got lucky although we have our differences now and again, but i have been pretty flexible when it comes to choosing songs, getting the round in, not mentioning the smelly trainers and general twatiness of the other 2...!
11.
Why not, if they've paid for it? Maybe I misunderstood.
i think paypal would refund the "buyer" thier money once they had recieved it and then went on to inform paypal it was broiken, not sold as advetised, wrong colour etc etc...
12. not sure if its considered bad as such, but it sounds rubbish to me in a band mix, would never consider it myself but some more of the "out there" members here might!
13. You should have it on standby for probably at least 20 minutes before you fire it up, and also when you switch it off, leave for 20 minutes (if possible) to cool down before you move it. In other words, make it the first thing you do when you arrive at gigs or rehersals!
14. For rehersals I plug mine into a 1500W poweramp then into my Ampeg 410 HLF, it sounds absoloutely great. For gigging it goes into the SVT-CL, again sounds amazing, total tube heaven
15. Its on the bucket list for most bass players, do it once in your life, I have (410 mind, not 810) and no regrets!
16. http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_rumble_500_2014.htm fender rumble 500w, sorted....free delivery too
17. Sorry, slightly Geeky question here! Does anyone know the difference between these two speakers? I believe the Mk 1's were made in Italy as opposed to the Mk3 which are made in China? Different drivers? Neo vs ferrite? The reason being Ive seen some second hand mk1's for sale at only £150 less than a new pair of MK 3's at Thomman. We desperately need to upgrade our speakers as we get constant complaints that the punters can't hear our singer (although I think thats a bit of a blessing) Thanks chaps
18. Great review, really enjoyed that, thanks!
19. I met this great guy in Mansons yesterday who told me he's looking for a bass player to complete a trad reggae band in Devon. Anyway heres the ad, dont reply to me! Im a regular pub band rock covers guy! https://www.lemonrock.com/smalladsingle.php?id=16172
20. if he's the bloke with his own wiki page, then he sounds like a right arrogant tw*t, get shot and move on, plenty of fiddle players in cornwall, along with mandolinn and bodhran, cant move for em! Seriously, drinking before a gig is a big no no, especially if you're getting paid.

22. Rob from Ramp Audio Repair does all Mansons valve repairs and he did a great job sorting and revalving my CL 01392 861216, just outside Exeter, but be prepared to wait for it.... https://www.facebook.com/RampAudio/
