I wouldn't use a Kappa as a standalone speaker personally - it's got a huge peak in the upper mids and doesn't really go high enough. It's an LF driver (unlike the Kappalite, which is fine but pricey).
Grab yourself one of these if you can stretch to it: http://basschat.co.u...-for-sale-x-2/. Not only is it neo (so it's light) but the price is half what you would normally pay in the shops - so you wouldn't lose any money if you eventually decided to sell it. Also, it is in a different league to the drivers you have been considering so far and will work fine in the Ashdown.

yep this.
I have a kappalite which sounds awesome but it cost an arm and a leg.

It's a bit like not enjoying sex.....why would you do it ?

Is it ok if i actually enjoy the sex as opposed to my wife?
nice review, does what it says on the tin.
I was looking at the fretless Jaco model up against the squier. Would love a head to head with those two. Vintage are pretty underated IMO

Hmm, not sure about the PF500. Now if it was a OTB 500 we'd be sorting something out ;-)

doh just turned down an OTB straight swap!
these get rave revues

or you could get a cheap squier and replace a few bits. I replaced the pups with some ebayed wizard tweed pups and the bridge and tuners with some wilkinsons, made a massive difference, cheap too.
Hi Guys
I have a 15" warwick driver from a WCA 115 pro cab that i replaced with a kappalite speaker.
Ive put the warwick driver in an old ashdown cab and it works great but ive decided i dont need 2 x 115 anymore and id like to try a 210 cab.
So does anyone fancy a trade with the warwick 115 in the ashdown cab for an old 210 they might have knocking around?
Trade value approx £100.
Im in Devon by the way.
