Flats for Black - I seemed to recall a set of fender flats I had came with Black silks, went to collect a second case/rack thing from local PMT and picked up some fender flats… green silks. its ok, I’ll live. i have oiled both fingerboards too as they looked dusty rather than rich. both look gorgeous now. worth 5 mins taking the stings off.

1100s is a belting bass - I’ve had 2. I preferred the earlier one with the squared pickup surround. Also had a bb450 which is the passive version

I had a bb1600, the 414 gets close - just doesn’t feel as special… similar sound quality though.

Nah - plays great, looks ace - was a bargain, needs love. It’s home now. Yeah - the usual sparky bridge pickup seems lifeless/dark. will open it up…at some point. I’m sure it’s just a wire on the wrong doofer on the switch. etc.

The BB1600 - I regret selling that over any other bass. It was exactly as per TK’s - I even used to buy GHS boomers for it because I’m a sad little fanboy. I will say, a well set up 414 is comparable…but doesn’t feel as nice.
