Yeah, every time I’ve pulled a fender out (even posh CS) there’s been no comments. Pull out a Gibson Ripper - people ask to have their photo taken with it. The Jack Casady basses “ooh they’re nice them” etc. The BB having been my longest serving bass has never actually done a gig with me…

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
AndyTravis replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
It’s not improving the more I think about it. I was genuinely accused of being “aggressive” today…because I didn’t understand why I was accosted for unplugging a 3 plug adapter (not in use) so I could plug my extension lead in. still reeling over it. -

Waste of time today. everyone knackered, 9.30 on a Saturday, rushing as drummer had somewhere to be. All grumpy and ready to misinterpret one another: we played shite, absolute waste of time. -
In all honesty, it’s a lot of messing about when there are other pre-made cabs that do that job… I don’t like pissing about with speaker cabs and amps. if it’s not doing what I’m after, just sell and move on. To be fair - I like these orange cabs. so I might just find another cab for the other band with a tweeter and crack on.

So this is the “I’ll not sell this one” bass. It sounds perfect, quite modern and crisp…not vintage plummy Gibson. Does an MTD’ish style, seems to pull musicman sounds but will do vintage stuff, Ace, Mahogany Set neck, Mahogany Body, Beautiful flamed Maple Lid…Schaller Hardware, Bartolini Electronics… Original Case and Gibson paperwork (one latch not functioning) I will include the knobs it came with - seem to be very heavy duty, and the Gibson speed knobs I’ve bought to get it back to factory. 34” scale, ebony board: new battery recent GHS flea strings - very low action… Some small marks, nothing at “ding” level. Specific trades… Musicman Stingray 5 - Honeyburst/white pickup preferred Dingwall D-Roc/NG 5 string: if this doesn’t sell…no hardship, but I need a 5 for the band I’m using it for…and the ripper and Jack Casady’s do the other band.

There’s one where you can see the body next to it. It’s that one…goosed.

Bought this last week, I don’t really know what was in my head as it would involve either butchering my old faithful Jazz…which I’m not going to do…or buying a new jazz which I really don’t want to do. there isn’t enough space in the cavity to fit a battery and I don’t want to rout the back of the bass. It’s come from Phill Mann’s overwater bass, and seeing how I love my Bartolini equipped Gibson I probably thought I’d shove it in my Jazz and be happy. But I hadn’t really thought about what I was doing when I messaged him and bought it. He kindly included some knobs and a jazz bell plate. You’ll need to solder a jack on and the battery clip - all diagrams included. If you’re adding to a jazz, it’ll need to be an edge mount jack socket. Would be a mega upgrade to any Sire bass, or a Fender Marcus Miller model, possibly Sadowsky Metro? I suspect there’s enough meat on the cables for it to be off the bell plate and be retrofitted to any 4 pot setup. Price includes shipping in the UK.

No?
