In 2001/2 I went to Sound Control, I had recently decided that all guitarists were crap, and I after 5 or so years playing bass would show them what guitar playing was. I was going to write songs and play guitar and do solos and stuff. I’d seen a guitarist magazine review of this fancy blue Yamaha and it hung on the wall in the shop gleaming. It didn’t work (a SC specialty), it had a loose volume pot and dicky jack socket. I know the DiMarzio pickups sounded great for the seconds they worked. I ended up with a beautiful telecaster 72 custom instead. But it always bothered me; I wanted the blue Yamaha with a bigsby. Anyhow - they’ve cropped up occasionally, but seem to be abused. this one is ok, a few marks - not bad for 23/24 years old. Needs a clean and new strings. But it seems to play well. I shall report back.

Have to admit…selling one very expensive bass and turning it into 4 less expensive basses is a new trick… also…the next shiny thing is en route but it’s to replace my Old Pacifica electric guitar…

I’m just weighing up how to do an updated photo…don’t think I’ve got enough couch real estate…

Next step (probably weekend) is 2 badass bridges. and they’re on the way…

Yeah. Allparts started making the Omega…then bought the name/rights etc. These ones are via @Beedster though.

I’ve noticed though - the headstock finish is very fragile on these. Already a couple of marks on it. Ah well - they’ll be very busy basses so a bit of real relic’ing wont kill anyone.

I’ve also got 2 Badass bridges on the way 😆
