1. I like slot loading bridges. As for the choice of Schaller, Gotoh and Badass...it would be a Gotoh for me purely on how they look. They just look well made and like proper engineering. I really don't like the look of those big Badass bridges on Fender style basses, it looks out of balance.
2. My Squier isn't particularly well balanced. The neck doesn't have an awful lot of dive but because the body is quite light it could be better. As such there's not a lot that can be done to remedy it. The Ibanez is spot on for balance.
3.
What's the problem..? Surely one has only to declare one's overseas purchases to Customs, no..? Anything else would be dishonest, I should think.
Perhaps this is where Howard Marks got it all wrong...
4. Sold a bit a gear lately on Gumtree and the free ad pages on Facebook. Got decent prices and because they're usually local it's quite easy to arrange pick up or delivery in person. I don't think my gear would have sold on here...
5. Bringing back gear?... All sounds very Howard Marks to me
6.
Another long-time Herco user here. Been using Flex 50s since 1974. Great picks.
It's lasted 39years...the same one
7. All the things I don't irrationally dislike.
8.
Well funnily enough the Genz 2x12t looks good, its lightweight, has rubber casters at the back with rubber feet at the front and solid rattle free inset handles at the top rather than in the middle of the cab where they ruin the cabs tone, cost less and even Alex himself rates them as a good cab
Is it good for Metal though?
9.
Tort PGs on Black look disgusting to me.
Weirdo
10. I don't like white pickguards...
11.
Actually, that's me.
Or me
12.
Oh really. 79cm x 46cm x 38cm vs 76cm x 48cm x 34cm Of course, the similarity in dimensions shouldn't really come as a surprise.
In the picture the Berg looks twice as big... It was supposed to be something that wasn't serious, maybe not a joke but...
13. The Berg is clearly a lot bigger as well :/ That would be an issue for me
14. That's the amp I saw on G4M. Apparently it'll take until 1st Oct to get to any customer... Perhaps they ship them over by rowing boat from the BVI's? And yes, Behringer is ok. I've owned some and it's always been fine. To be honest read the problems people have with gear and every brand is hit and miss if you ask me...which you didn't so then it becomes MHO etc.
15. Tsk! indeed. And a bit more tsk!!!!! These web retailers really should pull their act together...and I'm being serious for once.
16.
Part of Behringer, hence the prices.
I see.
17. Who are they. I saw one of their heads listed on G4M's website. It seemed very cheap for what it was preporting to be. Go on to their website and all you seem to derive is a PO Box in the BVI's. Does anyone own something made by them or have used any of their equipment?
18. Get a grip people!
19.
My 69er has a strap handle on the top which I though at first was a bit strange but as the cab is so light, it makes the cab easy to lift single handed. Alex put the side handles in upside down, doesn't bother me but it sure bothers my guitarist. My major concern is our drummer though, he doesn't give a sh*t about anyone's gear, not even his own, so we tend to keep gear that we care about away from him because he will break it. He's often been heard to say, don't tell me how to carry things, I worked for Pickfords. Twat!
This is a brilliant post
20. I'm sh*t, I know I'm sh*t, that's all I need to know...
21.
I think you're confusing this with the CV '60s jazz which is white with a tort pick guard. The 4 string version of the 70s VM jazz bass is white and comes with a black pick guard.
I was confusing it with the VM Jazz with the rosewood neck. That has the tort pg. 22.
It certainly does, and I've ordered one from TBD for my BD Custom P. Pics to come.
How many pg's will that be for the Custom P? Just asking
23. The 4 string of this has got a tort pg...and looks bloody lovely. Great looking bass the 5, especially for the money.
