Measurements from the 12th fret on my SR5:
332mm from nut to centreline of neck coil
344mm from nut to centreline of pickup (between coils)
356mm from nut to centreline of bridge coil
Yes realise that, I wondered if it was just a loose connecting wire or a broken winding in the pickup itself. I guess it was a connecting wire but hats off to you if you managed to find and fix a broken winding!
I've got an American Deluxe bridge and have just tried a saddle screw which I know to be 6-32 UNC on it and it's a perfect fit. As long as they're a 6-32 thread the ones from R&D should be good.
US saddle screws are typically 6-32 UNC thread and 7/16" or 1/2" long (like these from Allparts)

That's an unusual one. I've often mused over building a 3 J pickup bass, be interesting to hear a demo of the 5 pickup positions if you ever get round to it.
Measurements for my SR5 are as follows:
764mm from nut to centreline of neck coil
776mm from nut to centreline of pickup (between coils)
788mm from nut to centreline of bridge coil
Ugh, are the Sire pickup sizes non-standard in some way? May be worth emailing Sire customer service about a replacement - [email protected]. They promise to reply within one working day! At least then it would be a matched set.
Agree it seems unlikely the pickup has packed in but it does happen. Are you getting any output from the front pickup when the blend is in the centre position (just tap the pole pieces)?
Have you looked at the wiring on the blend pot to see if anything has come adrift? Might be a bad solder joint that has just come away which is an easy fix. If the wiring looks good then the next thing to check is the front pickup to make sure it's working.
Thanks for info. I've looked on youtube and all I've found so far is one vid of the older style Electro with the mag pickup much closer to the bridge. I'll have another rummage around. Ah the little Mouse, that is something rather special, I have one too!
Not often you see one of these! Can you provide some audio clips to give an idea of the mag/piezo range of tones? Are the controls Vol, Mag/Piezo blend, Bass, Treble? Thanks
