2. They look custom made? Might be worth looking at Bob Bradshaw's site - Custom Audio Electronics Site He makes boards for the stars and on his site, shows us mere-mortals how to make them ourselves. Either them or a Tour Supply company that custom makes these sort of things.
Hey guys Can anyone identify what these pedalboards are? Not the pedals, but the actuall boards. I keep seeing the around lately but dont know what company makes them! Any help would be appreciated!
Hey Chris I checked out the price of two new GK cabs and it works out at £358 from GAK. I will take half or that give or take a few quid. So £175 plus shipping for both GK cabs! Michael
7. Do you remember how much for and if it was advertised as a Ex-Duff?
Saw this for sale on Bristol Gumtree a while back.
8. You could say that about mine!
Looks like a duff to me.
9. Ive got the exact bass they're selling. Although mine is better! haha
I put one on here for a lot less than that and it had no takers (wasn't too worried as it was a mates). I expect ChrisWilliams666 will be along shortly. Not overly convinced by the ownership credentials I have to say...
10. Im not sure this is genuine. I have been a Duff/GNR fan for years as many of you know and can see in my signature. When GnR got there first paycheck when they got signed Duff bought a White Jazz Special, and later a Black One (Possibly given to him by Fender) Any after that were custom made for him by Fender and adorned various stickers on the front which this doesnt show any signs of wear. Another worry for me is that Duff always wore elaborate belts and his guitars suffered a heck of a lot of buckle-rash. This again, shows no sign of wear. The knobs are also non original and not even the ones Duff has on his custom shop guitars. Another factor is that the bass is stated as 1985. GNR formed in mid '85, when Duff played a crappy Yamaha. Duff didnt buy a Jazz Special till March '86 when Geffen signed them and gave them there first pay check... and it was WHITE! I'm pretty sure he didnt get a Black one until at least 2 years after this for the big tours with Aerosmith etc.
Having seen GnR open the 'Maidens show at Donnington 88, very impressed at how a thrown about Duff bass has maintained it's good looks? (Sadly Gnr were s^!*e at that gig)
11. I know someone who wants a 115BLX if you end up splitting? Possibly the 210 too.
If you decide to split them then I'd be interested in the 700RB head and I have the money ready for the right price.
12. you should get rid of that cab too and get a matching GK.
i think this is what ill go for! so the ampeg is for still for sale people if there are no takers ill just have to part ex it would prefer to sell it tho andy
13. G-K all the way for this dude!
Interested in a 5 Pro?
14. I make all my cables and i would definately recommend getting wire cutters/strippers. There's nothing worse then cable-ends in your stomach! This is the cutter i use. Its great and will do all outer and inner cable. - Draper Cable Cutter I would seriously look into Van Damme VDC Site or Mogami Cables (if you can find a supplier) Mogami Site Switchcraft Jacks all the way. I use #226 and #228 Right angled jacks for Pedals and Wireless systems, and #280 for a straight jacks. - Switchcraft @ VDC Site Hope this helps.
yes in my experience these work very well and they dont ruin your teeth
24. Hey Dude, I want an old 800RB. Do you know what year it is? I bet it sounds huge! If you ever wanna sell it let me know, or trade for my 700RB-II!
Love GK amps - got a couple of them. 700 RB-11 and a 'vintage' 800RB. The 700 is my main gigging amp which I've had for over two years with no problems whatsoever. Its loud & sounds very 'musical' through a variety of cabinets. Its got great tone controls along with the boost facility which gives a nice bit of growl too. It is also a very manageable 16.5 lbs in a 2 rack space,so whilst not in the Markbass league still makes it an easy carry-in. The 800 is just sublime, my fave amp head other than an SVT which I've always regretted selling. It sounds very similar to the 700, just that bit more old school-y perhaps. Again, works well with most cabs-last night it was running a 2x15 EV cab and really pumped the sound out great. Not quite as loud/versatile as the 700,but enough for a non-twiddler like me. The guy who services my gear isn't a massive fan of GK stuff-says they are nothing special in the build dept, and I have to agree with previous post re the dislike of plastic jack sockets which I believe is across the range (?). However, I've had no reliabilty probs with either amp over the last few years, and think that the design of their stuff just works whatever! Cheers.
25. Pics please. I want a late 80s 800RB. I bet it sounds great!
Just got a 400RB ('87 I believe) off ebay yesterday .. tried it last night .. quite impressed so far .. will let you know after next rehearsal etc ... Si
