1. When it left me it was immaculate. And i'm with you on the neck front. I can only play with Jazz necks.
It's had a few owners, yes, but they've all taken extremely good care of it: it's in fantastic nick. I wouldn't be without an active bass and I managed to coax a wide range of sounds out of the OLP - Stingray, of course, but also Jazz and nearly a P-bass - but I have been so spoiled by my skinny Yamaha neck that nothing else feels comfortable. I'm sure it will find Mr Right soon.
2. Definately perfect for experimenting with the whole active thing. Really not for me. But such a cool bass.
Tis a great bass & Stevie was very easy to deal with. Perhaps this could be the most owned bass on the forum? It's one for all the Precision boys to dip a toe into the water with!
3. This isn't the whore of a OLP bass that myself and Burrito bass have owned? Was such a nice bass, i just couldn't use an active bass in my rig! Good luck whoever has it. quote name='stevie' date='Feb 22 2010, 09:02 PM' post='754368'] This bass has now been sold twice over. So, please, no more offers from people who need me to ship. However, as I stated in my original post, I'm offering first refusal to anyone who can collect personally, for obvious reasons. For reasons that are also obvious, I cannot keep people who have already agreed to buy the bass waiting for ever. So, I'm going to let this run for another couple of days. Then it's gone.
4. SOLD!
Here i have two as-new Chrome P-Bass knobs. Purchased in error, as i wanted black. 5. Wow, havent seen one in this colour. Does this have the Jazz or P Neck? I know Lakland have a habit of changing bits around.
PM'd bump
7. All Done. All Hardware is now black. Sounds great too, now i've added a Duncan Quarter Pounder. Played a show last weekend with it. I now want a Jazz Bass with PJ configuration in this style.
Slowly changing the hardware over to black now, i love the tuners so much i have to go black. So its gonna look good! Just had a Black BadAss II arrive from waynepunkdude Will post more pics soon!
9. Did you utilise the neck plate?
Bought and sold to/from Chris always a pleasure never a problem.
10. If i was the winner of this, would i be the most hated person on the forum? ... I didn't win it buy the way. The Misses would go mental with this next to my two 4x10s! haha
Me too
11. Hey Tombboy, You got Paul correct down to every detail. A long time friend of mine, bass collector and Rep for EBS. He has tech'd for me a few times, as well as supplying some EBS gear. He took me down to meet Bernie Goodfellow in the "GB Den" If you meet him again. Just mention the word "bass" and he'll talk for hours.... you'll probably miss the gig. haha. Russell Hastings who is the singer for From the Jam is also a local guy.
Throw him an email and ask him through his official site. He's a very very approachable guy who I've met a couple of times.... the last time when we supported FTJ in December 08. I'm sure he'd love to give you a heads up. Whilst your doing that, point him in the direction of this site. I remember mentioning it to him at the gig and he seemed very enthusiastic about checking it out. You never know..... he may be lurking! His sound guy by the way is a chap called Edd Higdon who I'm good friends with (no.... it's NOT how we got the gig!!). He runs a sound production company called CSS Pro or something, based in Poole. This is us with Bruce after the Dec gig
12. Yes thats correct. RS66LD 45-105, not sure what was used on the Waterstone bass. But definately Rotos on his Precisions.
Thanks for the info Chris, any idea what gauge strings Bruce is using?
13. Been looking for one of these. How much for shipping? - What brand/quality is this?
Hey fellow basschatters, I have a 4U shock mounted case for sale £80 or trade, i am looking for a 2U shock mounted flight case the same design as my curent 4u case with some cash which we can sort out via pm etc Theres a few scratches on the outside of the case from use. Nothing Major at all. Theyr all very small. Ill give the case a clean before you take it off my hands. This case is quite big! its slightly shorter than it is wide so id say that its about 18" deep (when the ends have been taken off) as its a 19" standard case, although i havent measured it. This case will survive almost anything! Feel free to ask any questions! i would prefer this to be picked up. thanks here is a picture of the case to give you an idea of the shock mounting that it has etc
14. what are you looking for in a p/x or trade?
Bump!
15. The body is from a pre-upgrade Mex. Blue agave was discontinued a couple of years ago. The pickguard also has the old Fender "shop" sticker on it.
Could it possibly also be MIM? You'd think it'd be a fairly important detail to include, as it would affect the price quite a bit I'd have thought. Also, just to add the Geddy Lee now also comes in Sunburst now whereas he says they only come in black, although it's about £150 premium for the sunburst IIRC.
16. Horrible Blue Agave. Would look better in Lake Placid!
Looks good, and IMO much better looking than black. Wonder if the other Jazz was a US one or still a CIJ.
17. Genuine Fender USA 4-bolt neck plate. Chrome finish. Stamped with the famous "F" logo. Great for any of you guys building a Parts Bass. I'm after £9 Posted. (£13.99 + Postage at WD Music) I would also like some Black Neck Plate screws in a P/X if possible.
 18. Hey Guys Bruce's Bass tech is a personal friend of mine. I spoke to Paul about the gear Bruce was using. If i remember rightly he had 2 Ampeg Heads with an 8x10 when they started with FTJ (Originally The Gift) After touring the Ampegs, they became unreliable. Constantly back at the repairers (Possibly Ampeg UK?) They needed something more reliable so went to Marshall. I believe he tried the VBA, MB and possibly an 800 through various cabs and decided on the VBA400 with two 4x12s. He also tours with a spare VBA400 (just incase) The only other gear you need is the 57 Vintage P-Bass, Rotosound RS66LD Strings and Rotosound 0.96mm Triangle Picks! 19. Hey Dude Glad to see you're on the hunt for the GK. I personally have the 2001RB and a couple of 410RBHs. Both are amazing and you'd never need another rig. I'm not sure on the Euro price but its worth looking at the GK Fusion range, for something a little different. They have a valve pre-amp with the power amp from the 2001rb (i think) If going valve isn't your thing then stick with the 1001rb. Any GK questions, send me an PM!
Sorry to bother you guys again, but are there any alternatives in the price range (1500 euro = approx. 1444 GBP = 1648 USD), or is this the best choice? I want to be very very sure I can find little sound samples of the 1001RB-II on youtube to compare with other amps. I only played on an Ampeg SVT-3 before and I didn't like the sound, it was too dull for me, I like a little bit more punch/attack/definition, without losing the lows...
20. Just got a BadAass from Wayne. Paid one day, arrived the next! Perfect Gentleman.
 21. I had one of these. Amazing bass. Best Mex Bass they make!
No way Andy. You will regret this, you love this bass!!!!! I have had a shot of this and can guarantee its perfect condition and playabilty. Good luck with sale dude.
22. Slowly changing the hardware over to black now, i love the tuners so much i have to go black. So its gonna look good! Just had a Black BadAss II arrive from waynepunkdude Will post more pics soon!
nice work!
23. I remember that OLP. Must be the new BassChat communal 4 string!
Bought an OPL bass from Tim, which is in great nick with fresh strings. Tim went the extra mile, arranging for his drummer to deliver personally to my door. What a star! You don't get this quality of service very often. Thanks, Tim.
24. It is a great DVD. Although they're the only two songs on it. Duff breaks down the bass parts and teaches them to you. Theres also a gear run-through and history of Duff and GNR. Pretty cool
Great Vids, Need to get that DVD
25. Glad there are other fans out there. Ive got the Duff Sig and a 80s Jazz Special. if you're considering either get the Jazz Special. Ive also got a modded aerodyne like Duffs.
Duff is the man.
