Just look at his other builds....Kert's bass (reluctantly for sale) is a prime example of this.
There are no compromises on quality. I can definitely vouch for that!
I have one TKS S112 and it sounds lovely. Haven't used it in a live gig situation yet, but have been pondering adding a second cab for flexibility. I'll be playing mainly pubs and clubs, got a festival coming up but would have PA and monitor support for that. So hoping I may get by? Or do I pull the trigger on another cab?

I find a single S112 a bit limited except for stage monitoring. Adding a second one makes the pair just as nice sounding but noticeably bigger. I wouldn't like having just one. They're so light and portable that bulk is not an issue really.
You only need one cab for stage monitoring (i have got 2 btw). He's just being greedy
Looks great Fred I played one just like it a few years back. It had a slimmer, narrower neck than most other P's And it was just awesome. It was also for sale at that time, and I needed to sell another before buying... ... I'm still sorely disappointed I let that one go! I'm jealous now lol
I agree, it was a good one!
My particular favourite being when the band members agreed on 3 new songs to learn, and so I booked a rehearsal room for a week's time. Turned up for rehearsal the following week and it became obvious that the drummer hadn't even listened to them. I just asked him outright if he'd learned them, and he replied 'I've had a quick listen'. Spent the entire 3 hour rehearsal on one song. I put up with it for ages as he was a reliable guy and not a tw@t, but in the end enough was enough..the band didn't continue without me. Says it all really.
This is so similar to our situation at the minute Lew, i had to look to see if i had written it!! Our drummers exact words when i asked if he'd learnt them was "i had a quick listen" too!! Its the same apart from him being reliable actually He has forgotten about a couple of practices and is often late. But it's like you say we are all mates after playing together for as long as we have. Worst/most annoying part for me is our drummer thought it was ok, and not an issue, because it "all comes together in the end"

Cool looking build so far. Out of the mock ups i like the Teal build, with 2 P/UPs , but i like it with a black pickguard. Like the Red stained mock up you did too

Band names - how did you come up with yours?
FuNkShUi replied to AdamWoodBass's topic in General Discussion
I am like you, and probably overthink it. Took a lot of time to come up with something we all liked. Strangely, we thought some of the names were better suited for originals bands, rather than function bands. I didn't even realise that was "a thing". The one i came up with that i really liked, but was more suited to originals was "All the kings horses". -
I know Mateus plays guitar for Tori Kelly. She's pretty big in the U S of A

He is my favorite player on Instagram. Been following him for as long as i can remember. So good. I love his phrasing, and his understated style. Class act

Nice. Good range of tones. Always wanted to try one of these but never had the chance.

Who do you recommend to courier a bass to Europe?
FuNkShUi replied to FuNkShUi's topic in General Discussion
Just requested a quote from DPD..... By air it was £145, by road £35. How is there such a difference? Especially when they're scheduled to arrive the same day -

It'll definitely be sent in a hard case as its a through neck, so haven't got the option of removing the neck -
Read the small print of whoever you go with, often musical instruments aren't covered in the insurance, though they'll still take your money.
Is there any other way, other than through the courier, you would recommend to insure the bass? -

That sounds promising. Hate having a whole day as a pick up and delivery window too. -
I've had a bit of interest from Europe regarding my bass that i'm selling. I've been hesitant as i don't want it to end up in pieces. But i'd be happy to send it if i could find a good company. So has anyone got any recommendations for couriers they have used? Thanks

New band quandary - advice sought, please...
FuNkShUi replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
Apparently, the recording session will be instruments recorded seperately, with drummer first to a click track, then me, etc
No problems then. If you're confident you know the songs, doesn't really matter if you've played it as a band before or not (for this recordings sake) as you wont be playing it all together anyway. -

If you have learnt the songs for the set ( i'm going by what you've said), i don't see how the recording will be too much of an issue for you? As long as the songs you are set to record are out of the 25 you've learnt. I agree with you it's not ideal, but it's a studio session so if you don't nail it first time, you can always have another go. They know you're pretty new to the set, so i doubt they'd expect perfection 1st take. How is it being recorded? A live take? Or drums down first and everything else on top? -
New jazz bass is too bright, suggestions?
