1. I think you need the flush template bit, you can then test your template properly against the neck. I use the Stew-Mac ones but they are quite pricey. 2. Cheers guys we'll see how it goes, Mrs Scojack is expecting her kitchen to be finished this year ! On a sidenote .... I always fancied taking the DB scroll motif and applying it to an electric, just for the whimsy. I have had an idea in mind for years, it's been done before i know but not quite the way i had in mind. That is until i came across the brilliant Luthier Les Godfrey. His designs and work goes into the realms of art.... IanM
3. Thanks to everyone for the good comments on this build. Well she's gone, big bruv is over the moon. I really liked having that high C..... found it really useful. Was a 5 string low B convert... but fancy one of these myself now Had no plans for this year but there is this lovely bit of mcEbony cluttering up the shop and taking up valuable workspace.. Courtesy of Dave of this parish (Firecreek Basses) thanks pal Hmm IanM
4. Thanks all😊 That's just a .6 mm veneer Andy, rosewood. Finished it today..what a tone! Emg's were a sound investment.😀 Big brother's gonnae love it. Ian
5. Same again with knobs on! So cut the nut and stuck on some Newtone strings, still got to level frets etc. Slow progress though, not getting much time to finish this. Hey Ho IanM
6. Thanks for the feefback folks. I was going to order up the singles from D'addario but decided to go for a 33" set from Newtone. 33" is getting popular now, would be good if more choice was available. Ian
7. Christian Galvez on his 12 string monster ! https://www.youtube....h?v=WO31yENRENY
8. Fully Loaded !! Electrics are snugg (JUST fitted ) but full marks to the solderless connectors,.that was painless to fit, only needed to solder the battery earth as it wasn't long enough. Knobs require a teeny weeny micro allen key, if i ever had one that small i'd have lost it or broken it within 2 minutes ! wtf? Cheers W1 Hope so Andy . Ian
9. Bit the bullet and went for the full Active EMG pups and the BQC tone control. Got a delivery this weekend This is a better (more expensive!) preamp than i was going to originally use....hope it fits ! IanM
10. Nice touch Bastav
11. Fired an email orf to Newtone Strings today. Anybody else pipe in? Anything more 'off the shelf' ? Ta Ian

15. +1 on David Dyke.... the good thing is when your finished and your not quite happy.....just build another And so it starts
16. Top drawer Andy, love the walnut top especially .
17. There is so much i love about your builds Bastav so looking forward to this myself, Its because your designs are good and you have much talent that i just want to say this .. I do feel you let yourself down with some of the finer detail , if you would take more time and get even the smallest thing 100% perfect before moving on to the next job... I think your basses would move into a whole new level. . Ian
18. Loving that bridge... sneakin' stuff past the missus is a way of life for me
19. looks legit to me, fine set of EMG's on it too and is that a schaller 3d bridge...i like this.
