1. If anyone has a gig booked at the Royal Oak in Blackpool - forget it. We turned up last night to be told "there's no gig tonight" because there's been a change of management and they no longer have live music on. Nobody bothered to ring and tell us and Blackpool's a round trip of 80 miles for our drummer.
2. We drove all the way to Blackpool last night - a round trip of 80 miles for our drummer, only to be told on arrival that there's been a change of management and there's no live music any more. C*nts.
3.
See you got a couple of gigs at King Eddy's Alan. Think we are there beginning of April.
Hello Stu, yeh - we're there next Friday 22nd. Had a good night there last time.
4. Swiped off my tutor, It's Mexican but with a Wizard Thumper, new pots, a set of TI flats it sounds better than any P I've owned (4). A new pickguard and bridge cover were added for effect and I'm pretty well pleased with the end result. Suffice to say, it'll get many outings methinks.
5. I did indeed Smash - LMII / Aggie GS112 / 112 NT and it was a fine rig. I switched to the Epifani UL310 because I wanted the 'one cab solution' and at the first gig I was amazed at the difference in sound. The Epi sounded a lot punchier but a little less warm than the Aggies, more articulate too inasmuch as I could hear every single note I played. I've got an Epifani 212 NYC cab now and it's the bollox but I would be very glad to have a UL310 again - I appreciate it's not everyone's cup of tea but for me personally, it's the best cab going in terms of sound / volume / weight.
6. Epifani UL310 is the solution IMHO.
7. In my rack, I have a preamp, a poweramp and a tuner - all using separate power leads. Is there anything I can buy that would fit neatly into the back of the case, that would allow me to connect all 3 to one thingy with one power lead coming out of the back. I know an extension lead would enable this but I don't want 9ft of power leads coiled in the back of the case. Ta.
8. From the website; Headstock 8-1/8" (4-String) 9 3/4" (5-String) Width 1-5/8" (4-String) 1 3/4" (5-String) at nut 2-9/16" (4-String) 2 13/16" (5-String) at last fret
9. I've never come across anything that sounds like a Bongo - I have a 5HS at the moment and have owned a 4HH too. The nearest you're going to find IMO is a 'Ray.
10. Poor Dave - nothing's straightforward is it mate Jealous of Preston.
11. A lovely bass this one, sounds like a proper P and a joy to play.
12. Accurate internal measurements as follows. Height 52 cms Width 73 cms (76 cms actual case / ignoring foam) Depth 43 cms (46.5 cms actual case / ignoring foam)
13. I'll measure it accurately tonight and post the measurements later. I will be going to the NWBB in March but won't be putting this in the car because if I did, I wouldn't be able to get anything else in. We're playing at the Royal Oak in B'pool next Saturday and at the King Eddy VII the following Friday - I'll see if one of the others can carry it if you like.
14. Mmm Scotland - long way for you to come to collect an empty box though innit?
15. Bump - I want to get down and get funky so will swap this flightcase for a decent envelope filter
16. An extra £500 for a B string? Sheesh..
17. Hello Matt, I don't think your cab will go in judging by these comparative figures Dimensions (inches) My cab / Your cab Width 28" / 23.4" Height 20" / 21.6" Depth 17" / 18.9" If you like - I'll measure the insides accurately when I get home tonight.
18. Nice basses Chris - I really enjoyed playing the green one.

21. I'll show my big fat ugly face :brow:
22.
Is anyone bringing, or could they bring, a Status Series 2 Classic headless throughneck 4-string. I'm getting itchy fingers for another Status.
I played your Stealth 5 on Saturday Dave - never thought I'd get Status GAS but that was a lovely bass.
23.
Hi Homer I thought that might be a strange one to be honest! We're on the Sunday afternoon slot - and will no doubt have to be away prompt to let some 'fabulous boy-girl duo' set up! I'll let you knwo how we get on. Or better still - come down and see!, if you're not too far away. It would be good to have at least one friendly face there! Cheers Dave
I'll see if Cameron (Wayne 58) fancies a pint. It's an 'upstairs' gig with no lift so don't take anything too heavy! Mind you, they sometimes have bands on downstairs too I believe but they always shove us upstairs. Alan
24. I'll help you out Mike if you're temporarily headless or cabless
