1. That's frustrating Alan. I bought a bed off IKEA 5 weeks ago from their store in Warrington (25 miles away) and paid £35 to have it delivered. Took 'em 5 weeks. Next time I'll use the money to buy a team of slugs, strap the bed on their backs and send 'em up the M6 - I'd have got the bed weeks ago.
2. Any news Dave?
3. Had to resurrect this thread - just been to Pedro's house and had a lengthy play on this bass and I couldn't put it down. I would normally shy away from basses that are shaped 'a bit different' but this thing feels absolutely right and plays beautifully. Very comfortable, light and a superb neck - I loved the simplicity of it. Might treat myself in the New Year - thanks Pedro.
4. If I thought for one minute I could get this in and out of the car without needing 3 weeks of traction afterwards, I'd be on the M65 now.
5. What I really like about Jon is if I have an issue or want something tweaking on my bass, it's a lovely 45 minute drive through some really picturesque countryside and it's done there and then on the spot by the guy who built it. When I wanted to change the awful Nordstrand pups my bass was fitted with for Wizards, I left the bass with him and nipped into Sheffield for a couple of hours. When I got back, the job was done and he'd converted the series/parallel toggle switch to a preamp bypass for me - cost? £20. Unbelievable service.
6. May swap for nice practice combo with cash from me if needs be.
7. +1 for Jon Shuker - a lovely bloke who builds fantastic basses
8. 3 months old in as new condition - fabulous, versatile compressor but not really using it. £[s]95[/s] 90 posted Looks exactly like this
9. Agreed on the Sandberg - stunning
10. I tried to buy a practice combo today but failed miserably and so now, I'm re-evaluating what I need for practicing at home. I usually play in my den (box room) using a Tascam Bass Trainer and headphones but TBH, I get a bit fed up with having to wear headphones preferring a more natural sound through speakers. In addition to the Tascam I have a decent PC with not so decent speakers that has Guitar Pro loaded on it. I also have a decent CD player, NAD 3020 amp and some nice Gale bookshelf speakers. Is there a way I can bring this all together and maybe play along to to stuff on the Tascam and CDs through my stereo or PC without headphones? I'd also like to be able to play along to Guitar Pro tracks too if possible. I don't mind spending a few bob if it gets me what i need but I don't know what I need. Please help an old fart with this cos I'm thick when it comes down to technical matters.
11. If the guy on the driveway does exist then surely someone must know him at that address otherwise why would be be there? Unless of course, that was all part of the plan hatched by a dodgy driver...
12. Nice Euro LX Russ
13. Whatever cab you're thinking of this'll blow it out the water.
14. I'm far too good a cab to be on Page 2 type bump
15. They say two heads are better than one but I'll stick with my LM tube.
16. I withdrew this a couple of weeks ago but it's looking like my gigging days may be coming to an end soon so it's back up FS/FT with a reduction in price. It's in immaculate condition - 800 watts with a neo sub woofer that shakes the ground. It has the Accuswitch thingy where you can switch between 4 and 8 ohms and a control for the mid driver and tweeter which are quite subtle. It's a fairly easy lift at approx 62lbs and it comes on sturdy castors. There's a padded cover that's in very good condition except some of the piping was beginning to fray when I got it so I got a needle and cotton out and stitched it a bit here and there to stop it spreading. Go to Harmony Central / BGRA or Talkbass and read the reviews. Enough said. This is a rare opportunity to get your hands on one of the best cabs money can buy. Price £625 ovno collected only or may meet within 100 miles of Preston. Alternatively I fancy a nice sixer to noodle on in my den if you have anything, let me know. Pics
