1. It's a bit like my old Shuker. Bloody hell I miss it Have a bump on me.
2. Mine must be a contender...
3. Bought some strings from Phil, lovely fella and a great player to boot. He's an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to do business with. Highly recommended.
4. Thanks fella, power isn't really an issue cos I'm only playing very quietly in my den.
5. I feel for you. My turn soon.
6. Our drummer is the reason I play bass.
7. I was going to treat myself to a small practice combo but tried my bass plugged into an old Peavey monitor instead and it sounds plenty good and loud enough for me. Am I going to blow anything up doing this?
8. Thank you Spoombung - I love it.
9. Probably my favourite head and Paul's a top bloke - I've done a few deals with him, highly recommended. Wish I had the money, I'd love another one of these.
10. A fairly recent one of me
11.
Funnily enough in about the same time span I've only NEEDED to swap istruments once - and Rayman and Niceguyhomer were there to watch me need to.
I remember it well Dave I'm a one bass man - never needed backup so I prefer to blow all my budget on one decent instrument which at the moment is a Clover Avenger 5 Custom. I carry spare strings and all my basses have had a preamp bypass fitted just in case.
12. Yo Pete, if you're planning a trip northbound M6 to try the Aggy, let me know and if I'm not doing anything I'll come with you to see Pedro.
13. Hi Pete, one of the nicest heads (if not the nicest) I ever had was the twin channel Aguilar AG500, truly warm, punchy and articulate. Why the fook I ever sold that I'll never know. You could pick one up used in vgc for that sort of money. I had an Ashdown ABM500 once and I loved the tone but it was getting on a bit and I was scared to use it without back up (which I didn't have at the time). I'd love a Klystron head - I'd just need someone to carry it for me. I think an Ashdown would suit you mate.
14. Great bloke, positive thoughts from me.
15. I've owned both (5 MB heads) - I love the sound of the Ampeg and probably prefer it in that sense to the LMII but I'm anal about reliability, so my recommendation having done 300+ gigs with MB heads would be to go with the LMII every time. I will say that my Ampeg never failed on me in the short time I had it but for some reason that I can't justify I never had the same trust in it. You can always dirty up the LMII with a pedal.
16. I wasn't sure about my newly acquired MB 104HF which I use with a LMII. It kinda sounded a bit middy and at the same time a bit wooly soloed but yesterday, I had the chance to hear my rig out front in a live band situation (I lent it to another bassist) and fook me it sounded fantastic in the mix. Warm, fat, punchy...all those things. There's a lot of people who like MB heads (I've had 5 including the Tube) but dis their cabs but I'd recommend them for live work cos they sound great in the mix IMHO/IME. It's quite easy to lift too.
17. Favourite song in our set, bit of a challenge for me at first but a stonking bass line.
18. It's gone now Andy - never mind
19. I saw Bob's combo in the flesh and it gave me GAS and a little dribble of wee down my leg. I want one.
20. Damn...and there I was scratching my arse and watching junk TV
21. I might be arsed
