12 days after surgery, I now have a right eyeball that is half gas and half liquid. The liquid appears to be on the top, since vision is inverted. So it's still not usable, and I have to cover it with a patch because the sloshing is so distracting, but the little I can see does appear to be in focus. Another week and I might be able to do some work.

not sure I like Chromes on my L1000... do I not like Chromes or not like flats?

Chromes are quite 'modern' as flats go, nice strings if that's what you want. I had some Chromes on my '71 Precision, and they started sounding pretty decent after a couple of years of constant gigging (and we're talking 1-2 gigs a week), in total I had the Chromes on that bass for around 5 years.
When I put a La Bella 760FL set on the same bass, they sounded as good if not better (with a slightly nicer tension IMO) out of the packet as the 5 year old Chromes, and they're ageing really nicely.So yeah, it's all about La Bella IMO.

Lakland 44-64 sold, sad to see it go. But Moollon P incoming in April and my eye on a Precision 5...which should hopefully be with me by mid-December

@Drax 8-9 Months. It was really a toss-up between it and another US 44-64, but this was cheaper and a bit more true 'vintage' than the Laklands (which are brill obviously)
