I should probably go try it and hope that it's rubbish haha

It's would be a very self-indulgent purchase. I've actually had the go-ahead from the wife-to-be.
Think I'm gonna email to perhaps go and see it.

It's used, but from a dealer, so almost certainly sold at a small premium over private prices of course.

It's not exactly rare, but you don't see too many of them.

I'm wondering how I might make it happen, and I agree that you can't tell too much about a bass from a single play, but certainly ensuring it doesn't have any issues etc.

Still thinking on it. Early wedding present to myself?! haha

  4. made the mistake of venturing into off topic. :S

  5. Users asking how to hook up their monitor to ethernet. I give up.

  6. Assuming you wanted the bass, would you buy a 5 string that weighed 10.4lbs?

Thanks all, it’s been interesting to see a range of opinions on this. Think I’m sorted now 🙂

  9. Just picked up some KZ-ZS10 Pro in-ear monitors for £42 from Amazon. 5 driver per side, very impressed with them for the price!

I haven't worn them on a full gig yet (next one that needs in-ears is 14th Aug), but I happily sat with them in for around an hour just listening to music no problem.
This is my first set of in-ears, so I'm hardly a connoisseur, but I'm super impressed with the quality for the price.

  11. First gig back tomorrow! Pretty low pressure, but still.....from someone who used to gig, at the minimum, once a week....I'm a bit anxious haha. Excited too though!

  12. So does this forum have a dark Theme I can switch to? The white background hurts my eyes on 34" ultrawide.

As a moderator, I raised this. We're due a forum software update soon, and we're hoping that a dark theme will be implemented as part of that.
      More details soon hopefully.

  13. All these years I thought that Sterling was a budget line from Musicman, like Sub.. rather than a model of bass...

  14. I’m wondering if Labella flatwounds are as good as everyone says 🤔 ...

Yeah, I know Felix Pastorius uses flats on his 6er Fodera (D’Addario though), and Bubby Lewis uses La Bella Tapewounds on most of his basses. They're not just for the 'groovers' :)

  15. Really missing my old Lakland 55-01 today. I'm very lucky to have some incredibly basses, including another great 55-01......but I would have the original back in a flash!

@hiram.k.hackenbacker Yup, know exactly where it is, but the guy (quite fairly) doesn't want to sell it.....or even sell it for my current 55-01 haha.

@JapanAxeYeah that was to FL’s, although I do also have FS’s on another bass and I don’t really notice too much of a difference lol

I’d say equal to Chromes, I went straight to La Bella’s from Chromes and didn’t notice any discernible tension difference. Not as stiff as Rotosounds!!

@Big Rich Not up front, but then you'll likely not change them again, so very cheap in the long-run!

Some older units will have the serial in the battery component, but if it’s just a Taiwanese Octave, yeah....£75 maybe. That said, missing baseplate, £50-£60 🤷‍♂️
