@mrn1989 Saw them, but still up there at £75 for a scratch plate. We'll see. Thanks though.
@kodiakblair Will look further into this! Thanks very much

@Marc S The £100 quote is a local luthier haha. To be fair to him, he doesn't have the material, so I'm basically paying for the material plus the work hours. Just need to find someone who's already got the material perhaps.

@discreet A Lakland, so yeah, not standard shape :).
Could go down the DIY route, however that's then £40 on the material (which is probably the most I'd spend on a plate), plus the likelihood that it wouldn't be very good haha.
I can live with white for now

@SpondonBassed I wish
Also just realised that Scratch-it just do single-ply. Standard cost for a custom seems to be around £75 for a tort scratch plate (WD Music), forgot how crazy expensive they are!
Guess I'll try and find someone to swap with instead haha

@ebenezer As much as I’m glad Howard is back up and working, I had a very bad exeperience with him a few years ago that ended with me losing £100 (could have been more if I hadn’t pushed hard to get my parts back).
I wish him no ill-will, and genuinely glad he’s back working, but wouldn’t use him.
This quote was from a local luthier, so will just go with Scratch-It or similar, £35 from a scan of mine. Easy

When a Reverb seller, listed as a quick responder, hasn't answered my question in a week, should I assume they're on holiday, or otherwise absent?

Do old schol thumpy type flats (i.e not Fender/D'Addario bright types) without a completely dead E string exist????

La Bella Flats & Gold White Nylons have arrived!! The Flats will replace the Chromes on my Precision, but will make some recordings for a direct comparison! Very much looking forward to testing the GW Nylons on my Lakland 5!

Think my Half Wound experiment is over, making my G&L sound a bit lifeless. Where to next.....Chromes? La Bella Golds? Or Newtone
