Can't answer for Sibob, but my guitar pedalboard gets its juice from an IEC mains lead into a GigRig Generator. One cable from guitar to pedalboard, 2 cables from there to back of stage. No batteries to go flat, or to forget to charge. If mains goes down you're screwed anyway.
THIS! Plus, its a battery, its constantly decharging (when it's not charging), you'll never trully be sure that your pedals are sounding their optimum Si
-
There's a reason I don't use batteries in my pedals, only mains power. The Volto is a nice idea, but essentially just a big battery. I'll stick with mains Si

For what its worth, I've had good dealings with the Orange repair team. Whilst I'm not about to talk money (every case is different), they were very helpful. I was able to drop the amp straight to them in Herts, which helped reduce cost. The costs they quote will no doubt be to cover their back and applicable most of the time, but they seem keen to help customers, so don't necessarily take it as gospel. Si

Yup, another vote for the Boss BF-2B from me . Very cool Flanger....and its brown, which for me is a plus haha. Si

I was asked to do a gig by a drummer once, his first question was "do you play slap", I said a little, but its not really part of what I do, however I knew lots of great players who do and I'll put him in contact. He then proceeded to say "oh we just want someone funky". I did the gig, no slap necessary, funky show. Often people don't know what they're talking about. Disco octaves, single popped accents within fingerstyle lines, they'll be happy enough. Si

What is probably more productive than people trying argue which subjective view is correct is posting your response in the form of a 'musical' bass solo/piece. A clash!! Lets make Rodigan proud! Si
I rate Richard Bona as one of the best players in the World at the moment, and I wouldn't lump him in with the examples of solo playing we have seen so far in so much as he is essentially acting as an accompanist to his own singing. His style and choices make perfect sense, and the final result is beautiful.
Well yes, I agree, however 'solo bass' seems to be a broad term, chordal playing etc etc, so figured it was a good excuse to post the video Si

Generally speaking I really dislike solo-bass slapping and tapping, Victor Wooten falls into that category largely for me. However, he is an excellent educator, and an even better player when he's not on a, what is for him, a money/rent gig (clinics, demos, slap-bonanza). He even says that he wishes he got calls for more 'normal' gigs, yes he's partly to blame for his own fate here, but we've all got to pay the rent huh A couple of exceptions of solo bass for me is Steve Lawson, and these two: Oh yeah, forgot, didn't like the original video, didn't speak to me on any level. No problem Si

I'm sure they sound great, but what a stupid enclosure design (ask Aguilar). Assume they don't want guys using flat right-angle patch cables?! Si

And apparently I made the last post in Members Chat! Si -

With all the size-necessary feature ommisions though, I wonder if they'll just be on-par with similar pedals of their size/function?! Si
By the sound of things you're looking for a fuzz rather than an overdrive. The ODB-3 pushes into fuzz territory at it's higher settings. Personally I found the worst thing about the ODB was it's description - it's not really an overdrive, at least not a smooth one, and retains a fizzy edge whatever the settings. I thought it was very good at aggressive tones that stopped short of full on fuzz, the sort of thing that would probably appeal to fans of active basses into GK gear.
I agree, however, it's not even an average Fuzz sound lol Si
Hi Si just wondered why you say stay away from the ODB-3 I have one but have not really played with it much its not very "dirty" though if you get what I mean?
It just sounds like a bee-in-a-jar, not overdrive at all, a mild fuzz maybe. The blend just makes that rubbish effect less distinct. I think Boss are great, but they fell over on this one IMO. It's probably fine for home use, but I found it utterly useless in a band setting. I would say go with the Xotic BB Bass Preamp, super solid drive/overdrive, but not cheap (albeit usually under a ton). The Xotic is essentially a modded Tubescreamer circuit, so with that in mind, for a cheap equivalent, the Bad Monkey is a good bet, although some people do have to mod them to retain more bass. Si

Sorry, you said overdrive, clearly my suggestion wasn't overdrive. But still.....a good vibrato. I'd stay away from the ODB-3, plenty of good suggestions here. I always thought the Boss Mega Distortion was great on bass, I picked one up for £27 on eBay :-P Si

The Behringer Ultra Vibrato sounds great, if built like a wet cake Si

I don't think Watkins was integral to the band at all, average voice, miserable live. To me that screams "easily replacable" However, the Lost Prophets brand has pretty much been dragged through the mud because of him, I certainly don't blame the band at all. I might expect them to do an Alterbridge (post Creed) and simply reform under a different name/frontman perhaps Si

Love my PN-2, goes from gentle swells to fast chop and is a weird turquoise green! Lovely :-D Si
