1.
Hi Si, I take your point about the drive pedals but it is probably more to do with me being an insane control freak who likes his sound to be 'just so'! I love the sound of my bass and amp clean and get quite unreasonably irritated with the way that some pedals cut/boost high/low frequencies. Ben.
Haha, that's fair enough You'd probably do well to have each of the combinations in its own loop, with a little 1590a true bypass looper. That way, you'd just have one pedal to press for each sound rather than two Si
2. Could P/X the Idiotbox? Si
3. I often think about a P5, I sort of have one in my Yamaha BB 615, which is a PJ, but that Lakland looks great Dave! Si
4.
Not saying it's poor, just probably not legally enforceable!
Sorry, was replying to the OP essentially Si
5. • I have 3 Behringer EQs which are for different pedal combinations.

No effects or Chorus/Wonderlove= no EQ on
Emulating 80s pick sound = EQ1 on
Distortion / fuzz = EQ2 on
Fission powerchord = EQ3 on
This to me suggests that you need to find some drive pedals that you like the sound of better lol Interesting board though! Si
6. Not sure why a shop is expected to cover the cost of a bass during transit when: A ) they're not delivering themselves (who does?) B ) the courier they're using won't insure it If you're buying a bass, do yourself, the shop and the bass itself the courtesy of either buying a hardcase, or even better, picking it up in person. Not poor at all from Bass Lounge. Si
7. If it were me, and I was going for 8 months (not a short period of time), then I would purchase out there. I went to Wooten Woods last year and took my Jazz bass and found it all quite stressful, let alone taking something like an ACG. It would be easy enough to try and line up a couple of basses at local(isn) shops, let them know your plans a few weeks before, and see if you could arrange them having something in stock, or put by for you. It's a long shot, but you don't know unless you ask. Believe me, will make your travelling a lot more worry-free. Si
8. Good video Mike, important to have 'warts and all' reviews . Hopefully the pickups are a generic size (I'm sure they are) so you can drop something decent in. Unfortunately I guess that's when you start to pay out though. Say you put in some Aguilar DCBs & a 3-band EQ, you're probably talking £300 all in. Plus a setup with fret dress/level, maybe £80. Suddenly it's a £630 bass. Tuner change perhaps, £100 for some hipshots........you get the picture. In any case, it's been an interesting thread for sure! Me? I still would have stuck with your Corvette 5 Cheers bud Si
9. You'll never get great clarity with chords, although that depends on how much saturation (gain) you're using. Really heavy fuzz sounds aren't going to sound great with more than one note really. Also remember that the Mastotron is a gated fuzz (or rather it simulates a gate), so it will start looking to try and 'stop' your signal as soon as you stop attacking the note, which is why you're getting a quick decay on your notes. Try using a Fuzz that is not gated. You'd also do well to experiment with a parallel setup, so having two channels, one for your bass (with the overdrive pedal), and one channel for your fake guitar sound) POG & Fuzz.....or whichever way round you have it. That way, your bass sound will always rumble under the guitar sound even if the fuzz is gating the guitar signal. Si
10. Looking to move my little Ibanez 10 watt practice amp on. Not sure on the speaker size 6" maybe. A solid 8 / 10 condition with the only mark to write home about being a small slice in the vinyl on one side. Works perfectly, sounds nice for a small practice amp. Three band eq Presence control Volume Headphone output that mutes speaker Removeable kettle lead (included) SOLD Cheers Si
11.
Bass big muff.
Fuzz, doesn't count Plus the blend is flawed until you mod it, bad times! Si
12. I guess it only really works if you've tried them all (which is unfair on the MXR a little as it is very new). Was simply interested in what blendable distortion people preferred. Si
13. I know Mike and he mentioned on Facebook that there are some finishing niggles, and that it needed a setup to get it playing nice, but other than that I've not seen anything more. Si
14.
That may also dupe people... http://mbasses.com/
Absolutely, it's also not a million miles away from the Mayones logo.
Wow, this is even closer to the real thing >> http://www.aliexpres...049568.html?s=p , the neck carve looks bang on! and this is pretty nice too >> http://www.aliexpres...074830.html?s=p Eude
Yeah that's almost bang-on, pickups, bridge and controls obviously give it away, and it doesn't look like a Butterfly on the headstock. Trouble is, you still don't know what kind of wood they're using, possibly not cured well, just pulled out of the stock without any consideration of resonance/tone?! That said, I guess that's how most mass produced basses are made. Si
15. Man the butterfly inlay on that Imperial 6 copy looks so shoddy!!! That's the problem with these copies when they're advertised as 'Fodera Butterfly', it may well dupe some people. At least Mikes is branded as 'M' Bass or whatever. Si
16. Cheers guys The mix isn't the best (we had no say in that), but works well enough on some good headphones! Si
17. Fantastic heads, I have two and I'd buy another if one went down! Si
18. If anyone is interested, here's a little live session I played on recently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqYi2fNi45g This is my Fender Japan/USA Precision with CMT Salt pickup, DI taken from my Markbass LM2, although my Barefaced Midget is being played in the room. Si
19. No brief, no 'I want to sound like', just your instant reaction....... Comment AFTER you vote Si
20. Looking to sell my Cool Buzz. Real meat and potatoes Fuzz, lots of low end, a Mids & Volume control. As new, couple of very very slight marks on the bottom, but were present when it arrived. Boxed with Idiotbox stickers. The sound clip attached is just a clean Jazz (everything up), and then Cool Buzz working through the mids control from fully 'off' to fully 'on'. Download and rename to .wav £55 inc postage Si
21. Here's my mongrel Precision. Vintage white Fender Japan body, Fender USA Precision neck & tuners, Hipshot D-tuner, Gotoh 201 bridge, Crash Magnetic Transducers Salt pickup, Kiogon solder less loom/harness: Si
22.
maybe its >150mA? (the max current output of the distributor)
Highly highly unlikely, it's a muff fuzz, probably sits at around 20ma if not less! Si
23. Awesome pedals, great for loops and noise making Si
24. I still can't believe you spray painted those Suncoasts Si
