1. Just had an email back from Adrian (on a saturday!) no extra cost for 33" or other scales! Bonus! Si
2. Keep playing live, learn to play with your eyes closed! Solved! Si
3. Hmmm, I'm not sure I'd call it a design flaw......a design choice really. Lots of Fuzz pedals just have a preset amount of Gain/Fuzz, the assumption is you've bought a Fuzz pedal.....why would you not want it to sound as fuzzy/gainy as possible? Si
4. Would definitely be interested in a lightweight 33" P/J Si
5. As with anything, you're going to have to use your own ears to decide what you do and don't like, but my combination of a Compact and/or a Midget with my Markbass Littlemark II is brilliant to my ears! Si
6.
Thanks all for the great suggestions, I have plumped for a Cog Grand Tarkin from our own Fenderhead. But there was a lot of competition and some really interesting stuff I'd never heard of before.
I've also just noticed that you're from Brightlingsea, my home town, still get back there fairly often to see my parents Anyway, back to Fuzz Si
7. Very cool bass, has an air of Modulus about it, graphite neck, sparkle finish. I especially like the look of the Status neck with no face dots! I'm not keen on the angled tuners, but hey, whatever makes your life easier Si
8. The search for bass fuzz can be a bit of a holy grail quest, certainly take recommendations, but you'll never truly know until you try a lot Si
9. Stunning bass though. Make contact, go to Germany to it (I highly recommend a week in Bavaria). Sorted Si
10. As far as I'm aware, there are not any cheap copies of Darkstars. There are some hand-built clones, however they are likely to be very good quality in any case. I think for £250, you can't really go wrong. Si
11. Whilst slightly different to what you're wanting to achieve, I use a Gigrig Electroman (for my big box 24v Bass Micro Synth), and that works fine off a Diago MP9 daisy chain. Cheers Si
12.
I think I'm done for now
lol.....sure Si
13. First thing I spotted lol. Meh, I dunno, at any price point I don't expect 'errors', those Sires look pretty flawless for the same money. Tbh, I'd stick to that really nice Corvette you got man! Si
14. My OCD can't get past the bridge placement not being in the centre of the tone-block......or matching up with the width of the neck. It will be interesting to see what the general fit and finish is like, the nut looks messy, however could just be shine/bad photos. I wonder what the inside cavity looks like And yes, the control layout is............silly Si
15. If money or size is no object, then get the Strymon Big Sky, there's nothing touching that thing at all, stunning sounds. However I imagine real-estate and money IS a factor, and so I'd still go HOF or anything Mr Black Si
16. Did anyone win anything? I got my hands on the COG Tarkin Si
17. I love seeing 66s on boards!! I always feel like a proud half-parent Si
18. Based on my gfs Nano with pedals on (I've not populated the Warwick yet), not much room at all. You might be able to squeeze stuff in, but I wouldn't count on retaining your pedal settings lol. If you want a cable/strap pocket, I'd consider the Mini sized board (or the new PT Nano+), which has an extra pocket on the bag. Si
19. You'll need to use your ears man, again, never heard of someone using the a POG in their FX loop. Also remember that the FX Loop will be after your pedals effectively, what if you prefer the sound of some of the loop pedals BEFORE the pedals on the board?! Si
20.
Thanks all for your comments on this - I think I just had epiphany#2 as follows: 'Bare bones' pedal board (Tuner/Comp/Pre-AmpDI) will go inbetween Bass and Amp (Bass==>Pedals==>Amp). I can run board number 2 (POG, Muff PI, Chorus, Env Filter) on the FX send/return loop of my Amp. This means no messing about with cables on either pedal board - I just pull out whichever one I need at the time. It's good to talk!
Hmmmm, I dunno man. Check to see if you amp expects a line level in it's send/return. No-one ever has run a Fuzz in their amps FX loop lol. My guitarist used to run his delay pedal in his FX loop....not sure why. Si
21. So, it's clearly from the same factory. The bag is exactly the same, however the PT is a tiny but more substantial, chunkier feet and slightly thicker frame. That said, at this size, I can't imagine that making any difference. PT is on the left, Warwick on the right: I purchased this from Hot Rox, Thomann was marginally cheaper but big-up Hot Rox. Si
22.
Out of interest how would people compare the meatbox to the sub octaves on the pog2? I have a pog and was gonna get a meatbox but if the -2 Oct is similar then there may be no need...?
I don't think it's going to compare. The Meatbox isn't really about it being low from an 'octave' point of view, more that it's sub frequencies are heavily boosted. I've not tried a POG2, but if the Micro POG is anything to go by, the Meatbox will absolutely destroy it To be fair, there's not a great deal that comes close to the Meatbox, some say that the Aguilar Octomiser does a good impression, but it's too clean for my liking. The Mantic Density Hulk is probably the closest (ignoring their Beef Bag clone), but again, it's different to the Meatbox slightly. Si
23. I think the only niggling down I have on this, is the burst doesn't carry onto the belly cut (i.e. it's all black), looks strange to my eyes. But that really is *TRYING* to find an issue with it lol, it wouldn't stop me from buying one. I wonder how much a different scale length would be be Si
24. Should arrive today, so will give initial thoughts, then a comparison with the PT Nano tonight. Si
