It's not going to affect the bass, still a sweet bass, but could affect resale value. He'll likely say that he didn't check under the scratch plate.....I always find that a difficult line to follow for a vintage specialist. If it's not true, it's not honest, if it is true (most likely as I think Andy is a nice guy), then why isn't that happening at a vintage specialist?! Si

As has been said, Flat's won't ever be 'clanky'. I use Chromes on a Precision, and they have some mid character, which is nice, means you don't get lost in the mix, but in no way resemble the Roto 66 sets you reference. If you want a bit of a curve ball, perhaps check out the La Bella White Gold sets, they're golden Alloy (80/20 Brass apparently), wrapped in white tape. So basically metal strings, tape-wound. I've not tested them, but they seem like they'd be somewhere between brass (acoustic) strings and flats. Si

Might have been added perhaps, but because the routing around the mustang pickup is so shoddy, I'd probably suggest that the mustang routing and plate are original.....could be wrong though. Yeah, it's still listed on his website lol Si

Looks like an original Mustang routing to me, especially considering that plate on the bottom, but someone has done a really awful job of perhaps trying to fit a standard Precision pickup in there at some point. If this routing wasn't on the original product description from Mr Baxter, I'd perhaps be having a quiet word, because if I'd known about that at point of purchase, I'd want a few extra quid off. Si

It's amazing what some people consider to be 'deserved'......because these men and women had their multi-million dollar careers handed to them on a plate?! Just because they don't play jazz a million miles an hour, doesn't mean they haven't grafted as hard, or harder, than some bedroom prodigy. the internet has changed that a little and put the emphasis back on ability a little bit, but there are still those grafters, who started out in toilet venues, on $5 a day, 10 years ago who equally deserve some recognition for their craft. OC-2 does not have +1, just -1 & -2. Si

Yeah, there's a Sub'n'Up on one of my boards (which also has an OC-2), I only use it for the +1 octave. I also have a COG T-16 and a Line6 M5 (which models the EBS Octave) that I could have thrown into the fray, but this is the OC-2 party really ;). I did have 9 at one point, but it's ultimately a bit silly right, so now I just have one of every iteration, boxed etc, with a couple of extras....which of course is completely not silly. Si

*Don't worry, there is a video below* For as long as I've had my little collection of Boss OC-2s, people have asked the inevitable; "what do they sound like all together?". Up to this point I'd never tried because, well, that's silly right?! Well here it is, a very quick hit of my 7 OC-2s together. The looped bass 'riff' had to start high on the bass neck to accommodate the stacked low octaves as best as possible. We ignore the -2 octave control, and so each pedal starts with no direct signal and 100% -1 level. Once all on, we start to introduce the clean blend on each pedal. I have to ride the Input gain of the recording device a bit, simply because of the sheer amount of signal going on, but once we get to OC-2 number 5 & onwards, they start to overload each other. So the distortion that you're hearing is not a clipped signal into the iTrack Pocket, but OC-2 pedal 5, 6 & 7 themselves clipping. Helpful? No Silly? Yes Have fun. *USE HEADPHONES OR DECENT SPEAKERS". This is fundamentally untrue on a number of levels (and I think you probably know that). The only time this might apply, is if you consider it in the context of the music industry prior to the internet (why would anyone do that, it's silly), or whilst having an incredibly blinkered/narrow view of YouTube contributors......and indeed the number of very talented artists today who very much earn a healthy living. Richard Bona recently did an interview where he admitted that he made $2million dollars in publishing since leaving his recording/publishing company (the old system)....go figure huh. Si

I imagine it would go something like: "I enjoy playing bass, i'm alright at it, I made some videos, list them with a title that fairly accurately relates to the content, some people watch them". I'm almost certain that he doesn't have the time or inclination to defend himself against those in his extended community (bass players). You seem to be struggling with the fact that there's a fundamental contextual difference between something that ruins lives and kills people.....and bass playing on YouTube. Si

Your argument is fundamentally flawed, seeing as the guy has hundreds of thousands (perhaps millions, I've not looked recently) of subscribers. Just because YOU think it's crap, doesn't mean everyone else doesn't find it useful in some way. But equally no-one has said it's 'good because he's popular', but you have to assume it's 'good' to the vast majority of his subscribers. And if you're seriously likening him, and the many like him, playing bass on YouTube to selling crack, then I think this thread is done, because that's idiotic! For what it's worth, I couldn't care less about his content, I find it quite boring....but massive luck to him! Si
