2.
What a great idea for a band! I have a kids plastic toy chord organ from the 60's that does a passable harmonium sound......
Bugger off and get your own idea!
 3.
slayer for harmonium anyone?
I had a dream the other day that I'd formed a Steam-Punk band. The band were dressed in the peak of Victorian fashion and played punk and metal covers on old instruments, including a Harmonium. The next day one of my mates, who was in the band in the dream, said he was thinking of buying a harmonium! I had an awseome looking bass though, Carl Thompson-ish style with all darks woods and brass.
 4.
That is essentially it - just a custom gauge combination.
or not, in the case of Steve Harris Rotos. To be fair they did last a lot longer than the standard Roto flats of the same gauge...
 5. Does it work? I've not heard any examples of soloed components of music that are longer than 0.25 seconds...
 6. I've done gigs where we've been paid and I've done gigs where we haven't. Either way I had just as much fun...
 7. The J-retro sounds really nice. I wonder if someone with a P-Retro could do the same sort of thing. I'm interested in getting one, but would like to hear the difference...
 8. As the others have said, not just Windows based stuff I can leave Basschat open in Safari, make a cup of tea and when I come back I have to log in again...
 9.
For band practices, best use the two in-built ambient mics ... they're the same units as in the H2 so sound quality is perfectly adequate to check on a rehearsal later.
Yeah, we tried the built-in mics first too. Considering the unit was off to one side of the room, closest to the guitar amp the sound was pretty balanced. Next time I think we'll just use that but set it up in the middle of the room.
 10. Is anyone else having trouble with having to log in all the time? Even though I have "remember me" ticked I have to log in each time I visit the site. Even if I'm only out of the site for a couple of minutes... EDIT: I've just seen this thread: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...view=getnewpost

 15.
Klaus Flouride has always used a Jazz (and a quite nice blue metallic one at that)...
16. Mike has to be one of the greatest vocalists ever!
 17. Even without instruments they're brilliant!! carrying on the theme:
 18. Oh man, I'd forgotten how much Guy can't dance! NOMEANSNO!!
 19. Reading through this thread I was thinking JJ, bloody JJ all the sodding time (don't get me wrong I like The Stranglers) Then POW! NoMeansNo!!! I LOVE NoMeansNo I'm pretty sure Rob plays through Marshall guitar amps, or at least the early stuff is.
 20.
You won't go wrong with an NS. They had all sorts of problems with the WAV production in China so now produce the NXT in the Czech Republic. Same place as they make the CR models and they are fantastic.
I love my NXT, it's become the go to instrument if I want to just play bass and relax. Need to replace the standard strings though. No idea what to as the choice is a little bewildering...
 21.
Data transfer from them to the PC is super easy, just get a memory card to USB converter and copy the files directly into a folder then use Reaper to mixdown. Simples. And they sound really good for the price (IMO).
You can also transfer directly to a USB stick, but it's painfully slow... so if 2 or more members of the band want copies it's really easy to do.
 22. Briefly. Set up 2 condenser mics to record the whole band for a couple of tracks. It's a little confusing to use to start with, but that would change with use. The sound quality is bloody good. We were due to do a proper recording session with it next week, but the drummer has quit so we're regrouping... If you want one, get one they're good!
