1. Gotta love the Allman Brothers

Fender

The prices did get silly about 18 months ago. If I bought an MIA Fender now it'd be second hand and to be honest the MIM & the MIJ are great too. I guess basses are always worth whatever people are willing to pay. I personally found the price hike at a time of Global Recession a little offensive & I say that as a massive Fender fan
3. I'd love this, had it been 3wks ago I'd have been snapping this up. Sadly I've had a recent change in circumstances which mean I'm unlikely to be buying for a while. Good luck with the sale though.
4. A few people here knock Rotosound but I've been using them for a while now & this is all very pleasing to hear
5. It has been a bad year. I have a friend in New York State who is very active in his local Shadows club so I've forwarded this. RIP
6.
Ive noticed a few different basses have Made in Japan but also Crafted in japan ( not on the same bass )
Just to confuse you further, Fender had a crossover period where you can buy basses that were both made and crafted
7. Has anyone mentioned the neck? I was going to say colour
8. Welcome from someone who drove through Leeds about 17yrs ago!
9. I too think Basschat is King but I do subscribe to the Bass Guitar Magazine. It's the best of a bad lot. I used to love Bassist in the 90s - if I had a pound for everytime I've posted that I'd have at least £8 by now!
10. I've always been lead to believe you should be cautious stripping Squiers but nobody has ever posted a pic I've seen. You could always take a chance
11. I'm with Roland Rock on this one
12. These were really hyped in the late 90s & got great reviews at the time. This one does keep cropping up
13. Welcome on board
14. Whilst I acknowledge the above comments I do think there are better bargains out there! Nice colour though
15. We swapped instruments around once at rehearsal and my guitarist played my bass. He had the same facial expression my cat had right after I had him neutered. Can't remember what he played like!
16. I'm with burray in that coolness is subjective. Is cool up high, slapping away or is it down by the knees digging in on those 16ths? The answer is probably yes & no to all those things. A 20yr old me would be embarrassed (a bit!) by the 38yr old me as a bass player but the reality is I'm more comfortable in myself now and I don't really care what others think of whether it's cool anymore. A point that probably makes me cooler in its own way
17. I'm saying nothing until I've had legal advice...
18. Life is indeed too short:) Enjoy
19. Welcome to Basschat
20. Welcome
21. See, it's so much nicer when people say hello properly, isn't it? Welcome to the forum
22. I think this thread should have a yellow card from the toilet humour police
23. I think the bass is possibly a part cause for my unsuccessful relationships breaking up.... Oh well
