1.
It depends what it is. I bought an '86 Gibson Explorer Bass for £450 and sold it for £650. Also bought a Gibson Grabber for £400 and sold it for £850. However that was on eBay, and I took a bit of a risk with both listings because all that was provided was one or two phone-camera pictures and a hastily written sentence or two. I sold them back on with proper photographs and descriptions. There's also the fact that Gibson basses from that era are appreciating in value. When I sell on here though I just look to get my money back, unless I bought something new in which case it'll be listed for the going rate.
Wish I'd known about the Gibson Explorer
  2.
Thanks i didn't noticed that. I think i didn't provided kinda of spam or junk here. I'm new here. I'll try to chat to a mod.
If you had been new here, I may very well have bought the Fernandes Explorer. GLWTS Bump.
  3. For anybody looking Aria Pro II ZZB Deluxe explorer style bass guitar | Angus | Gumtree
  4. I can't find any feedback for bassgurumonster which is highly embarrassing as this is the second deal I have done with Mike this year. Anyway, on this occasion my Bleached Blonde Ltd Ed Warwick found it's way to Mike, whilst I got an absolutely stunning US Vintage RI 75 jazz and a few quid. First deal was a beautiful Rick 4004C to me, USA Precision and quite a few bob to him. Mike is a fantastic bloke to deal with and his gear is superb. DEAL WITH ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE FOLKS! Thanks for everything Mike and see you soon. Cheers, Karl.
  5. Arrrggghhh Chris ya schwein, I was in Stirling yesterday If my Sunburst Geddy goes in time, this is mine. I know I'm trying to get to two basses, but I'm weak THE colour for Precisions. Bump.
  6.
Cheers Karlfer, it's tricky as I've had quite a few really nice trade offers but I need the cash so I've scuppered at least half of any potential deals already. D'oh!
I know the feeling. My thinking was I can always sell a good jazz on easily. Defies belief that basses as good as these Warwicks appear to be an acquired taste. If mine had had 20 frets it would have gone nowhere. But I'm an old git, I can't see past the 20th fret Bump.
  7.
Cheers for the thought Eude. Exporting this baby to the US seems like it'd be a pretty penny to get it there. $1560 even without shipping, import duties & tax - easily $2000 in the end. Sexy666, I can only sell my LTD for what they seem to be going for! What's the reason for getting rid of yours may I ask? You seem to have a fair few Warwicks in your collection!
Quite right Descendent. I had my Bleached Blonde 4 string up and had very little (but determined) interest at £1100. I exchanged it for a rather lovely US 75 Jazz RI and a few bob. Market will dictate what they are worth, which is a shame because these particular Warwicks are fabulous basses. GLWTS
  8.
Karl, I hope you've had the offending cymbal beaten to death? (There's a pun or two in there somewhere?)
Our drummer will never walk the same again Tom . The Warwick has gone, might put the Glaub up as this is showing no real signs of going anywhere. Guess I'm looking for somebody who wants to buy a new Geddy, but can live with a headstock chip for the sake of saving £200.
  9.
I should have gone to a well-known high street opticians before posting this!
11. Thanks Martin Now considering trades for something a bit older. Roadworn Fiesta Red jazz or Lakkie Duck Dunn favourites, but feel free to ask. I'm very weak willed
  12. Hope you get it sorted Chris. I'm a big fan of the freeze stuff, but I know I'm not doing myself any favours.
  13. What, no headbangers One has heard aboout this Gang Nam Style ditty? and something about fish for a quid? edited for ******* spelling again
  14.
Perfectly reasonable to ask openly if someone would consider an offer - but all discussions on price should be via PM, hence I've edited a couple of posts above
And this from a MOD with the R word in his avatar!!!!!!!!!!! Stunning bass. Bermp as Mr Sellers would say.

Gorgeous bass. Tom, what you doing up at this time of the night lad? You are an early bird Bump.
  16. Thanks chaps, yes, very good price in my opinion. Very well finished, but still needs to go I'm afraid. Cheers, Karl.
  17.
Mid set action check.
An explanation of that move is given above the same photo,in my "For Sale " thread for that Geddy. How's that for a completely shameless plug And yes, that is a big shirt. I'm going to change it into a dress, but that's another story
  18.
Seems very much like it. He must stay about 5 mins from me! Would've thought?!!
Fairly sure he's Camelon?
  19.
MB1. LOCAL! Sale Manchester
Shall we have a trip round Martin?

  21. Loud and proud today. The bass player on before me had his two Ampeg 410's throught the PA. I was not jealous. My tshirt was bigger than his rig (EBAY order after the pub
  22.
Because I had an email saying "Your cab is almost finished, full payment is now due" Followed by silence, then after I chased it, a rather brusque one saying they are short staffed after Alex injured himself on his bike. Just the thousand pounds of my money!!!
I had similar delays, frustrations and also the same feelings about having to pay up front. I got the feeling at times that Alex's customer skills were similar to that of a stereotypical mad professor (no offense intended Alex). Even worse, after it finally arrived, I didn't like the sound and wanted my Schroeder 410BMF back. Then, after about 4 gigs, it started playing nice and I very much doubt I would go back to anything else. If anybody doesn't like the asthetics, don't buy the bloody things. Me, my back and my fingers are delighted at the 40/50 gigs we do per annum. As are my ears. Expensive, not to everybodies taste, but a great compromise in all areas that count.
  23. Yes because for instance somebody selling another bass of around the same value, can not say they would seriously consider trading with one of the unmentionables. Sadly as we all know the owners were put in a position where they had little choice, for the benefit of the majority. We need a secret handshake kinda section of Basschat . In the meantime OP, you have suggestions and I'm sure some of us will keep an ear open.
  24. Gumtree, Preloved, one of the local Faecesbook music gear sale pages. On those sites you can also stipulate if you would accept trades. Bit trickier to stipulate that on FEEBay. It is a shame it went the way it did as I think Basschatters missed out on sales and trades through no fault of their own. Just remember when you see an example of said bass on FEEBay at £1500; 1. It is likely that price to cover about £130 of fees. 2. It is also unlikely to sell. Part ex or lower price may be the order of the day for a quick transaction. Good luck.
