1.
I've tidied this thread up a bit keep to it on topic.
Understood, but it did take out the funny bits, especially yours
 2.
Until some bright spark realises Genz were really onto a brilliant product....nothing. The GK amps are very loud but I don't personally think they are as well made. Carvin amps are an option but not the same size/tone.
Not a sales plug as I'm not hugely bothered about selling it, but, regards GK. In my ad you will see the condition of my GK MB 500 after about 50 Dog and Duck and a couple of festival gigs. Mind you, it has always been protected in transit, in a laptop bag . The thought of the 800 version scares me silly, and that's against kick drum, toms, snare, two loud guitarists, ALL through PA at every gig. Me through the PA at two festivals .
 3. One thing that did get my goat (no discreet, that is not ANY kind of sexual innuendo) was that going into PMT there were walls of Sonic Blue, Sea Foam Green, Burgundy Mist and Shell Pink Fenders. ALL BLOODY 6 strings Now I know it's not PMT's fault, it's Fender fawning to the guitarses and ignoring the needs of us shrinking violet bass players. But it hurts, my preciooouuss, it hurts.
 4.
On Planet 1977, when £86 was a lot of money. A lot. Jon.
Yup, in 1980 I spent £100 on a second hand bass. An immaculate, 1973, Sonic Blue Fender Telecaster. I sold it 15 years later for £400. Wish I'd kept it
 5.
They'll settle in. You'll be comfortable with them again before the first decade is even up!
Ambitious.
 6.
Hi do you still have the case candy.
As above. Also, any chance of a close up photo of the front of the head stock please? There is a similar CS up on here and it looks like the decal has been stuck on as an afterthought, which is a bit disapointing for the sort of money these are going for. Cheers, Karl.
 7.
Thus proving the point that a good shop will allow you to play instruments, give you great advice... ...and then sell you something you didn't come for. I'm really glad you like it, looks like the business. Let's hear some noise from it when you've got over the shock.
8.
Also known as, 'Dumm.... dum dum dum dum-dum dum-dum-dum bongggg....'
9. Somebody mentioned sales. I went in to see if the had any Custom Shop (60 stacker in particular) jazzes in. Played it, it's a good un. Don't mention the war. I did once, but I think I got away with it
 10. Well slap me silly, I didn't know they made three knobs in 1960, thought they were stackers Very nice, look forward to some better photos (says David Bloody Bailey himself ).

 12.
Oooh, yess! Pics please!
I'm not good with pics and after the recent thread, bit nervous
 13.
Come on then, what did you get?
Read the signature illustrious one, then figure out what can not be bought here. Does the word Jetglo mean anything
 14. I've been to PMT Manchester today, and spent a few bob . About a 60 mile round trip but mainly motorway so could be worse. Ben and his guys were superb, excellent stock range of new and used, left a very happy bunny. First time I've been in a shop for years. Well done PMT, Ben and his colleagues.
 15.
Even I know the start of Phantom of the Opera, karlfer. You'll be playing 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac next I remember playing 'Peaches' at a jazz rehearsal once before realising that no-one else in the room had actually been BORN when the Stranglers had originally released it!! Ref: the 16 year old singer. No-one that young should be allowed to make decisions about repertoire. No-one.
Mmmmm, The Chain you say
 16. I keep noodling the start of Maiden's Phantom of the Opera. That gets ignored as well!
 17.
Or even a doodle.
Take 3 ?
 18. Just to ad to what everybody else that Mike has dealt with have said. FABULOUS, easy deal. I think he had paid before I said yes . Doesn't get any easier a true gent so deal with great confidence folks. Enjoy the Nate Mike, and possibly refrain from selling this one . All the best fella, Karl.
 19. Cheers Gareth, hope you are ok Mr. Still got the white 75RI then
 20.
OK, so in the ever-progressing search for a less-heavy-lift and less-cabling gigging life, we've got a decent Presonus desk and RCF PA now, and we've moved to wireless IEMs, so accordingly I've started using my iPad for digital amps/FX models, and it's a major leap forward. My setup is either basses>SonicPort>iPad>FX Return of Streamliner>DI out to PA or basses>SonicPort>iPad>PA, which means I can either run some backline or not, depending on venue requirements. This is such a major step forward I can't believe it - I can now hear myself perfectly, I have an individual mix (controlled via iPhone or iPad) in my ears, and best of all I can control the volume. My tinnitus thanks me. The amp models in the Jamup app are very very good (certainly good enough for what I need), and the FX are good enough for the job, too. I think I've spent less than £100 on all the EQ end, which includes half a dozen amp models, all the FX I'll ever need, tuner, plus some great jamming tools like speed and pitch control for playalong with my music library. Oh, and dozens of easy-to-set presets with full EQ/FX chains - Tony Levin's Sledgehammer to Duff to Jamerson to Marcus in a swipe of the finger... Even when we're not using in-ears, I'm still using the iPad and Jamup instead of the EQ on the Streamliner: it's just much more versatile. The only thing missing for the setup, and given the rise in this sort of thing, I'd consider it to be a pretty big hole in the market, is a small, portable Class D power amp: something along the lines of the GK MBs in size, I'd say 500w would be plenty. I know there's the SWR Amplite, but they're hardly common, and MB did kinda edge that way with their modular efforts, but there's still gotta be scope for one of the big manufacturers to just strip out their EQ, simplify the front panel, drop the price accordingly, and I think they'd sell very well. Anyone else think so?
Muzz, you lost me at basses> Mine is bass>curly lead> GK MB 500> Barefaced S12V. About 43lbs in all. Mind, my GK is currently languishing in the for sales, but I doubt it will be getting replaced by anything other than the latest eruption creating car radio amp
 21.
Hiya Karl, not long after I bought your EBS Neo 212 I picked up an HD350 and two years later, I'm still loving that rig. I also picked up an EBS Microbass and an SWR amplite and have had similarly pleasing results. The Microbass is a fantastic little box. Sooooo, since you loved the EBS tone you had why not try the microbass with a lightweight power amp. Maybe the 400W of the Amplite would not be enough for your watt-guzzling needs, but there's always the Demeter Minnie. It'll cost you an arm and a leg but I reckon it'll sound goooooood! PS your old Fender Duck Dunn is still the funkiest most badass bass I ever done played. It now wears bartolinis, Gotoh res-o-lite tuners and flats, shamone. All the best, Alan.
Are you INSANE boy? It's bad enough being accused of using a car cassette, never mind a bloody painted fag box Glad you are still enjoying gear I should never have sold . But there again, you are a professional musician with far more pragmatic sense than a weekend warrior like me will ever have. And to think of the biscuits I willingly gave . Hope you are ok bud and it's all going swimmingly. Cheers, Karl.
 22. Bollocks, that'll teach me not to watch football. One of mine previously, should never have sold it. Fab bass, bargain price, well done Ash!
 23. All pm's replied, currently still here. Cheers, Karl.
